*Ellen's eyes are immediately drawn to the plants closest to the entrance. Deviating off course, she walks over to admire them.*

*Follows along behind Ellen.* Interesting aren't they? Those particular ones are rather useful in making a kind of healing salve.

Ellen: ...So it's for the medicinal value and looking pretty?

[Raleigh]

Aye. I am not always making only harmful things after all. You see you take some of this one and *Gestures to some other plants growing about two rows over.* that one and mix them together. After that you just have to get it warmed up a bit with some body heat and something to hold it in place and it will begin to seal a wound.

[AmbushCat]

Ellen: *taps her chin, looking at the plants in question* ...If you have any books on the topic, I'd like to borrow them sometime.

[Raleigh]

Sure. I could let you borrow it to take with you a tomorrow. Want to look through some more of them while we are out here?

Ellen: ...I wouldn't object. *looks at some of the plants, probably thinking about her little trip to the Hanging Gardens way back when* ...How long does it typically take for these to grow?

[Raleigh]

That would partially depend upon the season actually. The ones you have in your hand can be grown year round but mature in about 4 weeks during the height of spring and a bit of summer while going for nearly 7 in winter. The other ones seem to only have a decent growth period, unless you have special soil, during fall but they turn up in about a week. People used to stock a lot of them while they turned out and would dry them out to preserve them for other points in the year.

*Ellen nods and looks at the plants for a bit longer before finally turning and walking towards the home's entrance.*

Ellen: ... ...I realize that this may sound a bit dumb coming from me, but you seem to know a lot about this subject.

[Raleigh]

*Stepping up behind Ellen and opening the door for her, he nods.* Nope, not dumb at all. As for me knowing it well I really should when it is all boiled down. Potion brewing and herbal remedies all fall somewhat under magic and thus I know them well. Sort of why I can use a bit of science and the like actually. So, shall we start with supper or would you prefer to start on something else. I believe my tv has one of those multiversal satellites so its likely to have quite a few channels if you wish to watch something for now.

Ellen: ... ...Supper, please. I can always check for anything interesting to watch afterward.

[Raleigh]

Alrighty. Let me see... where did I put my kitchen? *Steps in behind Ellen and looks around the entryway for the moment.* Was it upstairs or in the basement?

Ellen: *a bit amused* ...How much time do you actually spend here?

[Raleigh]

A lot. I just can't remember if I've already spent it here or will. Ah, yes, its in the west side of the house. *Turns east.*
