A Tricky Spell

Yama gives a nod.

"Understandable. Perhaps the same spell again?"

"Well...She said that it won't work. That it was clearly a one way spell and that there was a reversal spell," said the girl as she sighed. Her ear drooped a bit and she tried to blow it out of her face. It didn't work so she gave it another try until it did. "The problem is that it is either in this book or in another one."

The girl then flipped to a random page and read a spell outloud, "Acto damo tackto."

Soon her hand glowed red and pink sparks began to fly out of it and towards the two close by figures.

[Blaze]

"Ahh, I see. Well, logically the reverse spell would be on the next page, or at least close to the spell it reverses."

Yama's eyes widen at the spell and the pink sparks as he leaps back. Kid's got some legs on him.

"What is this? You should not cast spells at random!"

"Oh. Sorry," said the girl with nervous smile. "Spells and incantations are not my thing so I am not sure how this stuff works. I thought I would try to read one of them to get what to do."

Soon the sparks make pink flowers appear on the ground. They let out a pink dust cloud but soon the cloud disappears.

[Blaze]

Yama walks back over, shaking his head.

"Trying to brute force it does no good, and may actually make things worse. Give it to me, I can find it."

"Well, you can say I am a brute force kind of guy," said the girl with a nervous smile. She then rubbed the back of her head for a bit. "Well, I was."

Yama gives a tiny chuckle.

"Give me the book and you may be again soon."

"Alright and good luck," said the girl as she hands the book to Yama. "I am only in the body of a witch so this is not my thing."

Yama accepts the book and begins checking the previous and next pages of the page that had the spell on it for any sign of one that would fix it. Assuming that he doesn't find one, he then begins to skim the whole book looking for one.

Yama flips though the pages and eventually sees the spell. It was in the second half of the book which looks to have a lot of reversal spells. There was a long list of things needed.

"Any luck?" yawn Mike as he sat on the ground and looked to be half asleep.

"Ah, yes! Here it is here." Yama says, showing Mike the spell.

"Wow. I can't read," said Mike as she read the spell. "Yep. I can't read. No wonder I couldn't find it. Looks like gibberish to me."

The spell was written in ancient runes that made it impossible for a novice to read.

Yama looks at the book and nods.

"Ahh... it is rather complex. No wonder you did not notice it. If you like, I could put you back."

"Oh...I guess that explains a thing or two," said Mike as she rubs the back of her head. She then gave a nervous smile and pushed a rabbit ear out of her face, "If you could, please?"
