Glad you agree. Ambush might not, but he's not my problem. Never has been.

A bit more on myself. Unlike most iterations of the Lord of Nightmares, I'm fully capable of manifesting a human form. However, nothing so weak can truly contain me for long. So instead of placing my full power within an empty shell, I use a minuscule fragment of myself to interact with those on the physical plane. Once spawned, I can call it back at anytime, and it has no real impact on my current strength.

*Sassafras looks like she's trying real hard to process all this.* Just a fraction... So, does that mean I'm only talking to a part of you? Where's the rest?

The rest of it is part of the Sea of Chaos, and yet isn't. All the better to keep my eyes on my charges and make sure they behave themselves. While I'm talking to you, I'm also listening to them bicker about nonsensical things, effectively processing two conversations at once.

Uh... huh... *Sassafras nods slowly.* So you're here, but not really here, and there, but not there... Do you ever have trouble keeping track of all that? 'Cause I feel like I would...

Only in extreme circumstances, like if I have to venture somewhere with an overabundance of anti-magic. And even then, it would have to be more than most universes could hold before it had any negative impact. Otherwise, my focus is crystal clear no matter how many fragments I split myself into.

*glances past the fourth wall* And of course, there's universes where I'm outright barred from going to keep my very presence from damaging them. Like Curtis' home reality, for example.

Supposedly, though for obvious reasons I haven't trying exploring the depths of that aspect of my existence. I think we can both agree that the universe shouldn't be destroyed, correct?

((OOC: Been pretty busy early this week, but you don't need to hear the details. To summarize, it's mostly health and fanfiction-related stuff keeping me occupied, plus I've been watching a lot of gaming videos recently. ()^_^ ))

Well, you were made aware earlier of my little experiment, correct? These past eighteen years, I've been subjecting a mazoku to increasingly terrible fanfiction and movies from throughout the multiverse, with a kat scientist and a clone of Callista's pre-female self along for the ride.

"With a Ctarl-Ctarl providing support. Don't forget."

*sinister smile* Most recently, I showed them Curtis's earliest efforts at writing fanfiction. It's really quite interesting.

Ah, yeah, I remember. That does sound like an... interesting, idea. Are these stories really that horrible, though? *Sassafras tilts her head in confusion.* Though, I guess I don't know a whole lot about that sorta thing to begin with...

The stories were a combination of the following: 4th-5th grade-level English, circa 1994...

"Because I was in the 4th-5th grade."

...Characters from fictional media---in this case, The Lion King---hanging out at a specific Mansion in Michigan for no real reason, and joining in on the cast's antics...

"Be thankful that's not canon to Callista's story."

...Curtis Wildcat generally behaving like Garfield with superpowers, while also being an entitled brat...

"Yeah, he wasn't always a nice guy."

...And virtually every cliche you can think of from the cartoons that aired during that period.

"I think I do actually have the original files somewhere, but Michigan if I'm ever going to post them online. The disks have probably gone bad by this point, anyway."

*Sassafras winces.* Oof, yeah. That... That sounds rough. What does someone have to do to deserve being shown that?

Are you familiar with the tale of Lina Inverse? Contrasting that story, my subjecting Hellmaster Phibrizzo to complete disintegration was my way of giving him a stern talking to. I resurrected him a short time later, and I left him with two new followers and a clear message: 'Pursue your goals as you desire, but that child is not to be targeted again.'
