A Cosy Vacation In An Underworld

Yuugi glances at Usagi and Jean. "Hey... it's not like we ate them or anything! Stupid human rumors... we usually just took 'em home and kept 'em around! Like is someone made delicious sake, then he could make sake for us! Or if someone sung really nicely, she could sing for us! Stuff like that..." She takes another drink from her jug, and mutters, before glancing at Raleigh. "Eh, we're happy with things as they are now!" she says. "The Ancient City is our paradise now!"

Walking through the caverns, the party suddenly comes across a wide chasm in the earth! A stone bridge has been built across it, and a young woman in elegant clothes can be seen leaning against the railing, looking out over the chasm. Noticing the party, she glances over at them, frowning slightly.

"What's this? People from the surface?" she mutters.

And a pet or at least that is what I'm saying at the moment. Nice duds my dear.

Jean giggles at Yuugi's explanation, thankful they didn't do what she feared. She smiles at the young-looking demon and curtsies.

"Hello there. Don't worry, we come in peace."

Usagi nods, smiling. "Yeah, we're just here to visit." She thinks for a moment. "If it'd make you feel better, I'm not exactly human myself. I'm a were-rabbit, and a while back I also became a half-esper."

Yuugi glances at Usagi. "Oh, you're a youkai too, then! Then that's fine!" she says with a laugh, and slaps Usagi on the back -- hard enough to send her stumbling!

Meanwhile, the young woman on the bridge turns to stare at Jean. "Oh, I see... visitors from the upper world, being all friendly with the youkai, coming and going as they please?" she mutters. "... I'm jealous."

The oni glances at the woman at that. "Oi, oi, Paru... yer not going to get all jealous again, are you?" she asks.

[Blaze]

Jean tilts her head at the young youkai.

"Oh? You wish to leave and go to the surface?"

Usagi acks a little as she stumbles a bit at the pat, but mostly manages to keep her ground, blushing a little bit. She then blinks a moment at Paru. "Ah... um, sorry. To be honest, though, Muffinville doesn't seem like it'd be too dangerous or anything for youkai to visit, considering all of the people that usually come and go around there."

I've even heard rumors of someone opening a makai gate up there. I'm sure if its not caused a lot of trouble the underground youkai have little to worry about in causing distress. Why, I would bet a satori wouldn't even cause anyone to hesitate as one example.

Yuugi blinks at the red cat. "Makai? Hmm... they can be strange at times, though," she admits, before glancing sidelong at Raleigh. "And if the people up on the surface wouldn't mind a satori, well... maybe we are better off down here!"

Jean tilts her head at the young youkai.

"Oh? You wish to leave and go to the surface?"

The woman hmphs, turning away from Jean haughtily. "As it stands, I have my duty here," she explains. "I serve as one of the guardians, to help ensure that none who travel from the surface or the Ancient City come to harm."

Yuugi laughs! "Yeah, but that means she has to stand guard here! And sometimes she gets jealous of people who can just come and go as they please!"

Paru fumes a bit at the oni. "I'm quite jealous of your ability to speak so freely!" she mutters.

[Blaze]

Jean blinks and tilts her head.

"But surely you get breaks and holidays right?"

"Well... at least you're dedicated to your job, eh?" Usagi asked.

The cat chuckles. "Well at least you don't fall asleep at your post all the time like another guard I know."

Yuugi laughs! "Oh, she gets breaks and such," she tells Jean. "I see her in the Ancient City often enough. I suppose there isn't anything really interesting enough in the surface world for her to go there, despite what she might claim." The oni playfully tousles the other woman's hair, while she simply fumes.

"Stupid oni..." Paru mutters, to which Yuugi simply laughs again. "Anyways, we should get moving."

Utsuko nods, and cheerfully runs ahead, motioning for Jean and Usagi to follow after her!

[Blaze]

"Ahhh..." Jean says with a tiny giggle

She quickly runs after the hellraven!

"Hee..." Usagi follows after as well.
