The Mungojerrie: Rolling On (Part 2)

*Callista finishes her meal, then takes her glass with her and sits down at their table.*

Callista: I just received word from the fuzzball---he's finished eating the Death Star, and should be back at the other place before long.

[Circe]

Really? Good to hear.

[AmbushCat]

Callista: *smiles and nods* Yeah. And just in time to help us out, I figure.

[Circe]

Help with what, exactly?

[AmbushCat]

Callista: *expression changes to "drop-dead" levels of seriousness* I'm having the shields around the apartment upgraded to protect against mind control.

[Circe]

...You don't say.

[AmbushCat]

Callista: I just did. The I. D.'s newest opponent is known for extensive mind-control practices, so I decided to have all the homes' defenses brought up to date. It's for my safety and yours.

[Circe]

...Thank you, then.

[AmbushCat]

Callista: You're welcome.

*A brief pause. Callista sits back in her seat, staring up at the ceiling.*

Ellen: *mouths the words quietly to herself* ...Five...four...three...two...one...

*Callista slumps forward onto the table. Quiet snoring can be heard. Ellen just nods and shrugs in a "kinda figured she'd do that" manner.*

[Circe]

That was sudden...

[AmbushCat]

*Ellen takes a napkin and scrawls a message on it with a pen before passing it to Circe.*

Napkin: "It wasn't entirely unexpected."

[Circe]

*Circe raises an eyebrow and writes a reply:

"Why's that?"*

[AmbushCat]

*A few moments of writing, then...*

"Her default modes, remember? Eat, sleep, shop. Which was the most convenient?"

[Circe]

Ahh... *Circe nods.*

[AmbushCat]

*Ellen offers a nod of her own, then yawns quietly and stretches. She gets up, grabs the chair she was sitting in, and slowly starts to drag it away.*

Ellen: *quietly, and carefully* ...I'll be in the arcade. Don't wait up for me.
