Well, we have three points, and... *Delilah pauses while she hits the ball back over the net.* You have two... I think.

*Kaoru again rises out of the water, lifting her arm as if to spike the ball again---*

Drew: Cool. We'll go with that.

*---and instead taps it with just enough force to nudge it over the net.*

[Ookalf]

*Unfortunately, no one's close enough to the net at the time to catch the ball, so it hits the water.* Tricky...

*Smiles all around, except for (obviously) Abby.*

3-all. We're almost done with this crazy game. *shakes her head, chuckling*

[Ookalf]

Looks like it... *Madison tosses the ball to the other side.*

*Opting to skip a step or two, Abby doesn't bother to catch the ball but instead immediately punches the ball back over. Her three teammates do a collective double-take at this.*

[Ookalf]

*The other team clearly wasn't expecting that either, as the ball lands in the water before they can react.* That so shouldn't count!

[AmbushCat]

Abby: *stares off to the side* Nothing wrong with cutting out the middleman once in a while.

Drew: What. The $%*(#.

[Ookalf]

*Penny looks to Drew.* You agree that that shouldn't count, right?

[AmbushCat]

*The entire team, sans Abby, joins Drew in saying:

Agreed. Opposing team gets a free serve.

*Abby shrugs, but makes no effort to defend herself.*

[Ookalf]

*There are no objections from the opposing team, either, so Penny takes the ball and serves.*

[AmbushCat]

*FL-Kaoru gets to it, again ricocheting it off Abby's face (G-Ow!) and into a position where Joni can push it back across the net.*

((OOC: I'm kinda happy that the game's almost over, and I'm simultaneously annoyed at myself for making MSF rather low on my priority list these past few months. ))

[Ookalf]

(Yeah...)

*Madison reaches the ball first, and passes it to Delilah, who hits it back over the net.*

[AmbushCat]

*FL-Kaoru deflects it through the air towards Drew. Due to her positioning, she isn't quite able to get it back over the net, and it instead skims along the top.*

FL-Kaoru: No way, Jose! *punches the ball in Nozomi's general direction*

[Ookalf]

That won't work! *Nozomi swiftly knocks the ball straight back over the net, toward Kaoru.*
