The cloaked being stares at the ID for a few seconds and then says. "That is ac-ceptable. Thank you for shopping with us." A receipt starts loudly printing from its side; once it starts getting long enough it takes the receipt and offers it to Callista as it continues to grow. One of each thing in the store makes for a pretty long receipt, and it just keeps going.

*Callista taps a foot impatiently, but on the whole she seems used to this sort of thing. Seems to be more due to her headache than anything else.*

*Watching the print out as he rights his position in space and shifts forms to that of Holo.* Reminds me of the last time I went grocery shopping. Just bought three items and the receipt was as long as my forearm.

How many of those were the same item bought multiple times?

Yeah. I have a lot of familiars and one of them is my personal war horse. I'm sticking it in his head. He doesn't get to leave home too often so he is about as protected as it can be.

Two I believe. Some bananas, two cucumbers, a box of snack cakes, and a pork roast if I recall.

The receipt piles up a few feet onto the countertop, but eventually, finally, stops printing and gets torn off. Leaning to one side to poke its head out from behind the pile, the cloaked being says, "Do you re-quire a bag?"

"All the same," says Whatevr, "I'm not sure how four items takes up a receipt that long unless they have really long-winded names. Like 'the heroic cucumber of doom, death, destruction, and various inappropriate activities."

*Blinks.* I have forgotten about the roast it would seem. I already had one in the fridge and forgot I bought another one. Oh well, what one buys for the holidays. Eh, it was other things than the items that made the receipt so long. How many points at the store I had gotten for my purchase, how much I had saved using a member's card there, the name of the shop in an oversized font, taxes, totals, a small bit about a survey I could take to earn a hundred dollars, and other drivel utterly unimportant and not needed for a receipt.

Callista: I have one of my own, but thanks anyway. *reaches behind her and pulls out a spare shopping bag, scooping her newly-purchased tags inside, and folds up the receipt and sticks it within her purse* Thanks for letting me give you my business.

The being nods. "You are wel-come."

*Callista leaves the store with a spring in her step that wasn't there before. It looks as if her sanity is restored and her headache gone.*

Callista: Whew. That... was a trip. May as well stop by the Mungojerrie for a bite, then hightail it for home... *mutters to herself for a bit*

Amusingly, no. They have a separate dispenser that prints out a bunch of coupons on a shorter strip of paper.

But of course. That death crystal option that rendered Curtis completely powerless (and female) was contingent on her becoming as obsessed as she is now with the idea. None of the other choices he had would've let him restart from square one.
