"Umm, well..I..maybe... Um... Just wondering when we could start the magic lessons?", the words didn't come out as smoothly, as he still was what nervous around Circe. At least she didn't look angry or particularity annoyed. Maybe things would go easier if he had a certain task or lesson to focus on?

Marie stands aside like a good maid, her tail wagging eagerly in a way that suggests she at least hopes she did a good job. The fact that she sticks around lightly suggests she has something to say, but intends to wait as long as needed to be asked to say it.

...Well, I wasn't planning anything at the moment, but if you really need something to do now... *Circe hands Dan a small, round crystal.* Hold that and focus on it. It'll read your inherent magical energy and glow different colors depending on how strong it is.

Dan takes the crystal, his hands shaking a bit from the nerves but he made sure not to drop it. "Oh, inherent magic? Okay, I'll try..", though he really didn't know what to focus on, as this Dan was just a mundane human who normally shouldn't have any magical energy to speak of. His goggles were slightly enchanted with magic, but he himself should be as non-magical as the breakfast he ate earlier.

"Erm, s-somebody left an open jar of planberry jelly in a precarious place in one of the storage rooms," she says nervously. "Since that stuff is sort of dangerous, it's n-not really a good place to put that..."

Really? That is troubling. And what did you do with that jar after you found it?

"Well, it fell over and spilled...almost on your apprentice...so I cleaned that up! And I put what was left of it where it wouldn't fall over again. But I don't actually know if there's somewhere color fruit jelly is actually supposed to go, so.."

"Oh?... I guess that makes sense..", he wasn't expecting much..but 'disappointing' does sound..rather disappointing...
But.. Circe did say it was something workable, so he wonders what for, "Umm, so what does it mean when it glows white? Is that like light magic or something?..."

"Well, it fell over and spilled...almost on your apprentice...so I cleaned that up! And I put what was left of it where it wouldn't fall over again. But I don't actually know if there's somewhere color fruit jelly is actually supposed to go, so.."

I see. So you know for the future, jars like that should generally go to one of my labs. In fact, would you happen to feel like taking care of that now?

In this context, it just means the crystal's only reading faint signs of magical energy from you. We'll have to find some way to enhance that if you want to get anywhere big...

Dan murmurs "Aww, guess no invisibility proficiency either then..." Taking Circe words to heart, wondering what potential she saw in him,"Umm, how 'big' do you think I could get in magic?... And how do you suppose we enhance my inherent magical energy?"

"Yes, mistress!" Marie nod-nods eagerly, and dashes off to take care of the issue, a spring in her step at having a direct order to follow. She doesn't refer to the map for the moment, having a reasonably good sense of where the supply closet they just came from was.

Dan murmurs "Aww, guess no invisibility proficiency either then..." Taking Circe words to heart, wondering what potential she saw in him,"Umm, how 'big' do you think I could get in magic?... And how do you suppose we enhance my inherent magical energy?"

Well, that will probably depend on how well lessons go. And as for how... Just come with me. *Circe moves down the hall, gesturing for Dan to follow.*

*Marie has little trouble making her way back to the closet. When she goes inside, she'll find the jar right where she left it.*

"Oh, umm okay?..", he says following Circe down the hall. Unsure if he should put the crystal somewhere or give it back.. and just decided to keep it with him for now.
Dan was curious how the lessons will be, and if they would be magical-school-like as with Harry Potter, or maybe more like regular classes like he used to have? Maybe it was something very different; training magic doing plain chores.. like to how they train in some kung-fu movies?... Dan muses while he continues to follow his teacher.

Marie retrieves the jar, then briefly sets it back down on the shelf to see if she can find where the nearest lab is on the map. "Hmmmm..."
