*At this, the maid just drops the doppleganger.* OK, OK, no need for the roughness. Why are you here, anyway?

[AmbushCat]

Doppleganger: *lays on his back to keep from craning his neck* Originally, it was to keep an eye on things and wait for your boss to come in. Afterwards I tried to follow her around, but she slipped away while I was busy sharpening my claws. Had nothing else to do until I dissipate, so I thought I'd explore.

[Circe]

Wait. What were you sharpening your claws on?

[AmbushCat]

Doppleganger: *rolls his eyes* The carpet, sillyhead.

[Circe]

Oh. You didn't tear it up too bad, did you?

[AmbushCat]

Doppleganger: It kinda looks like it has a tiny, frizzy mohawk now.

[Circe]

*The maid clicks her tongue.* That's going to be a pain to fix...

[AmbushCat]

Doppleganger: *examines his claws* Nothing a pair of scissors wouldn't fix.

[Circe]

You figure?

[AmbushCat]

Doppleganger: *nods* I figure. And I'm a cat, too.

[Circe]

Yeah. I know.

[AmbushCat]

Doppleganger: Good. Now that we've agreed on something... *immediately whips around and takes off running* ...See ya!

[Circe]

Hey, get back here! *The maid runs after the doppleganger.*

[AmbushCat]

*It's a bit doubtful if the maid can keep up the pace for long; even without special abilities, kitties tend to be pretty quick on their feet. The doppleganger sweeps his senses left and right, trying to detect any Colors as he runs.*

Doppleganger: Slowpoke!

[Circe]

*Sure enough, the doppleganger soon loses sight of its pursuer. No sign of any loose Colors, though.*
