Kris Muffin Park

*The park in question, located in a nice residential district, is around seven acres in size and has the usual assortment of picnic areas, playground equipment, a baseball diamond, and---of course---lots and lots of trees. A statue at one end of the park depicts the eponymous Kris Muffin, a retired basketball player who channeled much of her salary into philanthropy.*

*A dimensional portal opens not far from the statue, depositing Swift in his natural form. Sensing that he's a little bit early, he hops onto a nearby bench and waits, surveying the activity at the park idly.*

A silvery-white blur passes by the bench Swift is on, and a few seconds later the shiny Eevee-girl Whyte appears a short ways down the path, facing away from it. She puts a hand over her eyes to look around.

Nate is currently sleeping on the other side of the bench, snoozing.

"Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...."

A silvery-white blur passes by the bench Swift is on, and a few seconds later the shiny Eevee-girl Whyte appears a short ways down the path, facing away from it. She puts a hand over her eyes to look around.

*Feeling in a playful mood, Swift jumps off the bench and creeps up on Whyte silently. When he gets close enough, he does a fairly impressive vertical leap and touches a cold nose to the back of her neck.*

Nate is currently sleeping on the other side of the bench, snoozing.

"Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...."

*Swift takes note of Nate's presence in case the opportunity for a prank arises later.*

"WAugh-Ice stones!" Whyte jumps up and forward and turns around in roughly the same motion, looking around briefly before noticing the Umbreon. "Swift!" This brings a smile to her face right away, and she crouches to be about on his level. "Did you know your nose is cold?" She pauses briefly, with a 'why did I say that' kind of wince, and corrects: "...I mean, it's great to see you again!"

"WAugh-Ice stones!" Whyte jumps up and forward and turns around in roughly the same motion, looking around briefly before noticing the Umbreon. "Swift!" This brings a smile to her face right away, and she crouches to be about on his level. "Did you know your nose is cold?" She pauses briefly, with a 'why did I say that' kind of wince, and corrects: "...I mean, it's great to see you again!"

Swift: *cheerfully* ---Hi, Whyte! Great to see you, too!--- *bumps his head into one of Whyte's hands*

Whyte returns the gesture with a gentle head-rubbing. "I meant to meet again a lot sooner, but, well..the PFL had me do a commercial, and then a bunch of people started bugging me for autographs. D thought it'd be funny to pose as me and give out a different signature with a heart on the y and now everyone thinks that's my secret real signature even though I'd never even do that. And somehow my address got out and people won't quit sending me evolution stones in the mail!" Near the end of this she starts pulling her own ears down. But then she lets go of them and pauses, realizing she was rambling a bit.
"Um..how've you been?"

"....ngghh?" All the commotion seemed to have disturbed the boy's sleep, he turned a little too far and fell off the bench. "OW!"

Swift: ---Mostly, I've been traveling with my boss and doing some much-needed training. Her kids were spending most of their time with family and friends during the summer, so that gave us plenty of time to do some dimension-hopping and good old wandering around.--- *looks off to the side ashamedly* ---Though that does mean I haven't been keeping track of your matches these past 3-4 months.---

*Swift's ears twitch a bit, but otherwise he doesn't react.*

The girl blinks, pausing from filling in her meditative coloring book.

"You OK Mister?" she says, looking at the boy.

Whyte looks over Swift briefly to the guy who fell off the bench. "You okay there?" But she then resumes the conversation in progress.
"Improvement's been pretty slow for me lately. They made me do an Ark fight--well, I say made but it's like a huge bonus for showing up briefly and only getting beaten up the once--I was desperate to do something new, so I went to that Raleigh guy's casino and tried their move roulette. Long story short, I forgot how to Tackle but now I know Hyper Beam and Sacred Fire, which at least briefly surprised the boss. Besides that my wins and losses have been about the same as usual. I've been doing some intensive speed training, which includes running anytime I'm going somewhere by myself. Little hard to get used to."

Swift: *nods* ---Ah. That explains why you ran right past me---- *does a double take* ---Wait, you learned SACRED FIRE?! Holy...---

Nate groans, "Yeah...I'm fine..." He looks up at the girl, and then the two...pokemon? "Woah pokemon! Too bad I don't have any pokeballs with me."

Well, Whyte actually looks much more like a person (but with the silver/white fur pattern of a shiny) than a Pokemon, but she shakes her head. "Don't even think about it, Swift's got an owner you do not wanna make mad."
And back to the Umbreon: "Yeah...it's really weird to use, and it's special type so my version's a lot weaker than the real deal. I really have no idea how learning it worked, I just crushed a glowing ball thing they gave me."
