Could somebody please tell me why is most of the spam we get here sex-oriented?

Because humans are sexual animals. A lot of things revolve around sex for people. If not in public, and private's not enough, they refer or suggest it in public without being so obvious that a child can understand it. That's exactly how America's culture is right now.

The bots aren't trying to be social. The majority of spam bots are meant to annoy and offend with certain, popular things. Like things involving sex (improving your equipment or adding to your entertainment in that area with porn) and pharmeceuticals. So much for the world we live in.

What Nikkou said. Certain Rappers and "Reggaetoneros" also include those themes in their music. In fact, most regaeton (Or however you spell it) has that theme. <.< That's why I hate it.

The right answer is that s3x / pr0n make a lot of money. If you look at their member info you will usually find an URL to a website to sell v*agra or pron vids.

I find that hard to be the truth. While I'm sure they make a lot of money, in the case of bots and spam someone would have to convince me that humans are even dumber than I think of them already, to bother looking where the links take them.

The one where it says I'm Doctor Mumbojumo from Niger and I'm having problems, I want you to take care of my millions in oil money and all I need to have you do is send me some money?

Remember when I posted that a Harvard professor fell for it?

In addition to people being stupid enough to look, there's also people stupid enough to make it.

Ok, I've noticed a different kind of spam appearing here lately. Random, useless stories that come out of nowhere. They're full of links to other sites, but I can't even determine if their destination is sexual in nature because none of them work.

Therefore, I have another question:

What is this all about?
