This is so ludicrous that I had to share it. They say that time is perceptional, and that it may seem faster or slower depending on what you're doing. Now, at the moment I am a bit tired, but I don't think that makes me crazy. XD Okay, here's what happened...
I put some leftover pizza in the microwave and set it for 2:00. I took about a half dozen steps to reach the cup in my pseudo-room from the microwave, where I took a second or two to glance into it to see if any cat hairs or something had gotten into it (I reuse cups for a while). From there I took about eight steps to reach the stove and took another second or two to glance into the cup again, just in case. Then I took three steps to reach the sink, where I swished some water in the cup a bit anyway (I'm neurotic like that XD;; ). I then place it on the counter beside me before taking three or so steps to reach the small refrigerator (next to the microwave), open it up, take out the pitcher of Kool-aid, close it, then take about the same amount of steps to return to my cup. The pitcher has a small opening so it comes out in a small stream, and I filled my cup (looks to be about seven inches high and three wide) just short of half. Then I returned the pitcher (you know the details) before returning to my cup. When I turned around and looked at the timer on the microwave... It said 1:45! Fifteen seconds!? I'm pretty sure it took five just to fill my cup with juice. X_X
Right, so, I considered that long enough for the clock to read 1:38 by the time I took the few steps required to enter my room. I put my cup down on my desk, sat down in my chair, took a sip from my drink, and just as I was clicking on my Firefox icon... Beep, beep, beep! But it couldn't have been more than twenty seconds! But I checked the pizza and it was, indeed, hot.
So you see my dilemma. On one hand time seems to flow a bit slower, and on the other it zips right on by. Now, I know that I can lose track of time, but that's usually when I'm doing nothing, when I'm thinking or focusing on writing a post or a caption. But in this case I did each thing in succession and I'm pretty sure time was flowing "normally." I always know when I lose track of time; it's a distinct feeling.
Oh, right... The subject? I figure I'm finally getting lost in my own mind, or my mind's phasing out of this reality, or whatever you want to call it. Don't say crazy: it's got no class. ;p
But, yeah... I'm going to be boggling over this experience forever. Next thing I know I'll probably find myself realizing that I'm surrounded by dead bodies, covered in blood and wielding the weapon(s). Yup. ;/
