The other side of the rainbow

So... It seems that gay marriage will soon be legal in California, and the Governator doesn't appear to want to veto the ruling. What do you think?

I think other states should follow suit. It's about time that was made legal....

That if he really has a problem with it he will just travel back in time and shoot the proposer's mother before s/he was concieved.

No, no, no. He's got to freeze everybody before they ratify and make a horrible ice pun like "You're on thin Ice" or "Winter's coming early to California".

Seriously, though, that's great for California.

sorry if this seems rude, but i truely don't care, i feel that the states shouldn't have any right to decide wether its alright for two people to get married is illegal or legal, they are being dictatorial if they think they can control what goes on in a persons daily life....

in short, i feel the government is oppressive and support anarchy....except the whole anarchy = chaos part...thats not cool.

More ignorance than rudeness. Basically, to my understanding, states are supposed to exercise the right to make such laws so long as they don't contradict the constitution. It's actually a good idea to do it state by state instead of country-wide for everything because majority-rule would then bring inequality to the minority. This way the minority will have a place inside the country that is acceptable to them. It's not perfect, but it is a good way of starting an example, and making a case, if a certain group of people want others to realize their rights as American citizens. It's a nice step for activists to take rather than the civil war that was needed for the recognition of the equality of races. Basically, with things divided so, it's probably easier, for a rightful change such as this one, to be made; as opposed to the processes of the American government itself and its renowned habit of being the opposite of progress.

I support this in full. just because I do. Actually, I'm not sure how the situation on this is over here in the UK. I'll go look it up.

Also, lol, Governator

EDIT: Alright, I have looked it up and over here civil partnerships are recognized, which have exactly the same legal status as marriages. I'm not entirely sure how it works but I'm sure there is some very slight difference just to make the bureaucrats happy...
