now this is something that has been bugging me.

Every now and then when I can find time to get on, post, laugh, cry and leave, i see a user/non-user under the names of Yahoo[bot], Google[bot] and even a few mystic-12[bot]s

but my question is WHY ARE THEY HERE?

my theory is that they are robots created by the government that are completely untraceable, unlook-up-able (trust me, I already tried), and they are gathering information on everything posted, deleted, and otherwise said in the Soapbox and general discussion for when mcCain becomes president and takes over america turning it into a dictatorship, so that way he can kill everyone who stands against him....including me, and most of the people that are in the soapbox as of right now. I say RUN RUN WHILE YOUR LEGS AREN'T BROKEN!

and I just let out a secret government plan and I will probably not be showing up much longer....*single tear slides down his cheek before he is dragged away by two men in suits with pistols at his head.*

*he then walks up from a trapdoor in the floor.*

Or I am just going insane, either way RUN WHILE YOU CAN!

If they are untraceable, then how does our messageboard identify them without being registered users? ;p

The only thing that bothers me is the possibility that they take up the site's bandwidth. And if so, being a part of the cause for some of the times that the site is down due to "too many connections" or whatnot.

Nikkou: they are registered users, sort of, also, they don't really take up that much bandwidth.

taylor dar: they are search engine bots that look for information to add to their databases, sort of

I think I know what they are. If I'm correct, they're simply recognized as official, non-malicious search engine bots, and other bots not listed/registered wouldn't be able to browse and/or post?

Then it's the crawlers that can take up some bandwidth?

they can just like lots of users can, but one bot by itself isn't gonna do much
