I much prefer Metroidvania to Castleroid. Castleroid sounds like something you'd go to the drugstore and buy a cream to take care of

I chose the name Sophia because the protagonists of two of my favorite childhood books, The BFG and Howl's Moving Castle are both named Sophie. Plus I'm big into name origins and etymology and stuffs and like that it means Wisdom in Greek. The Sweet came because the name Sophia was already registered and I likes the sugar.

My first screen name "Manpuncher" was actually just a stupid joke that I took from a Scottish video game show called Consolevania, plus I found it funny that people would refer to me as Manpuncher in IRC and stuff.

Nowadays it's just plain ol' David which is pretty much my first name which I thought would be really original, it wasn't. Bugger.
This signature is bad and will only lead to disappointment and shame, read about David or read his crappy journal by clicking those links and later wishing you didn't.

My name was given to me as a gift by Eri. It would have been impolite to refuse it, even though there was already original-flavor Sophia here, so. It was sort of confusing to notice people thinking I was her, though -- and amusing once I figured out that that was what they were thinking.

Edit: Those books Sophia1 mentioned are fantastic. I am willing to say this for both of them, even though Howl's Moving Castle is only known to me in anime form. But I think I can tell. ;)

For my Hiro Konobu name, it started as a tag line for writing fanfics, and from play too much pokemon gold, SSX, and watching too much Gravitation at the time, thus the first name Hiro was born as for the Konobu part I just combined three Japanese symbols together.

Now for the Hira Kanaki name it basically came due to the various TG'ing's, and TF's that came about through my time here, and I just thought it would be a good female name.

"How troublesome." A saying that strikes very close to home for me. On top of being the favorite idiom of one of my favorite anime/manga characters, Nara Shikamaru, it embodies one of my defining characteristics, laziness. Mendokusee was a romanji version of Shikamaru's trademark phrase, and I figured it was a pretty decent way of incorporating my naturally apathetic personality into a screen name. Plus, japanese words just sound cool.

my first MSF sn (legacyofx) comes from my want to branch out from my normal handle on the net (which used an X. if you know me, you know the handle). I had used that handle since basically when I found the net. However, the persona behind it (as close to the "true me" you'll find) was ill suited for the atmosphere of MSF, so I decided to impart a new persona, a legacy as it were.

From there you've got the characters, Seiji and Seiko Ishida, chosen for no particular reason than I liked the sound. Slide from a book from Terry Goodkind, Aphriel from Lady Sakura (and my passing fondness for angels), and the most recent one, Xia, from my good friend Jei-hime.

Xia however has taken a life of its own, as I've used the philosophy by the same name to kinda shape a concept, rather than a character. This is along the lines of "whats in a name" Because of this, Xia is gender neutral (she just so happens to be she alot due to various inside jokes and my personality). Xia has essentially become my catch all, the true legacy of X at MSF.

Postby Dracos » Sat Jan 26, 2008 1:12 pm

Dracos was the name of my guild from Neverwinter Nights PvP. At that point I start to name all of my characters Dracos, accounts Dracos, ect. If anyone plays EQ2 on the Permafrost server, I have several characters who's names are all variations of Dracos. [Drakos, Draycos, Draykos, ect.] I now carry on that proud tradition here, among other places.
