Ahh, I just found out what I was doing wrong. Too bad that now I am stuck not being able to find a good ending hehehe.

Well I got the zap wand... but I cant get a good ending. I have been zapping rooms, things, people... just cant seem to find out what I am doing wrong.

Every time I escape I just get a bad ending heh...

Edit: Ahh... finally found the good endings.

Bwahahaahaha!!

I managed to get the good ending and become the avatar of zap...

Wandering around and zapping random people in the endgame was the funnest part of the entire game... its something I wouldnt mind being able to do in real life. XD

I'm confused. I've just figured out how to start moveing around, and took the 1st book. Read the 2nd book. But don't know what to do in the 3rd room.

It took me a little bit to figure out too. Here--I'll put the answer in tinytext...
Okay--so, I don't remember what rooms each thing is in in relation to each other, but now that you figured out how to move around, they shouldn't take too long to find. What you need to do, is go and examine the ancient book so that you learn the chant, and examine the mysterious symbol. Then proceed to the altar, where you chant, and then pray, which should reveal the wand, which you then take, giving you the ability to zap things...

Oh... something I have been wondering. As I went through it a few times I noticed that zap self seemed to go through the same characters... but sometimes it didnt.

It seemed to vary depending on the name I put in the beginning... is that right?

And if so, how do I make it so I can see all the variations zap self can go through? I am curious hehehe.

Heyo, sorry, meant to reply in this earlier about this, but I was meaning to get more work done in the bonus endgame area (haven't yet, due to a combination of many things) before posting, but...

Me, elsewhere, some days back wrote:Re-uploaded. Nothing major added (except a new ending -- blame Nina -- but chances are that ending is not findable without the walkthrough), but fixed many typos that were pointed out to me, touched up a couple narratives and descriptions, "clothes|clothing" now supported by look (previously, had to "look me" to see clothing as an append to description), and clarified the "19 turns is faster than 20" bit that everyone and their cousin tells me that they think is a bug.

Also, threw together a quick, basic walkthrough (spoilers in the link, duh!) and a guide on self/clothing zapping (semi-sorta spoilers. Generally only useful to figuring out the zap pathways to get a form you want to get an ending you are missing). Hopefully I translated my goofy flowchart multi-arrow maze of spaghetti sheet of paper into something that makes sense in text... And hopefully I didn't error up things on there trying to make sure I had everything. (Yes, not all forms can have all clothes.)

Alternatively, you could just download the source -- though because it relies on the site for its framework (title/nav/footer), zaptest.php could not realistically be run on its own (it runs as an include from the site). You'd need to modify the file to be a standalone file, and the three forms (getname.php, commandform.php, gameoverform.php) so that the form action is to zaptest.php instead of mainpage.php (and chop off the querystring).

Also, to run it locally on your computer, you'd need to have a webserver running php on the computer as well.

To answer a couple of Knight Errant's questions:

The name you select at the beginning has no effect on the rest of the game - it doesn't change anything except how you are referred to when that name is appropriate.

Semi-spoiler response about zap in white text, highlight to read: Game generates four names when you start, one for each of the 'categories' of forms you could end up with. The result based on zapping self or clothing is based on 1) what form you are currently in. 2) What form your clothing is currently in. and 3) What room you are in when you use the zap command.
*POOF* Problem Solved.
