Personally, I miss the old days. Lately, being online has utterly sucked; nothing ever seems to be happening...

[If you don't mind my asking, what, in your mind, was different back when things were more regularly and universally active? To me, this has the way that it's just been, generally, but I'm curious as to how it's changed...

I meant in general, not just here (for some bizarre reason, I've went from enjoying coming online and chatting and checking for updates to not doing it at all, or doing it and being unsurprised that nothing's changed), but there was a time when I would come online and be somewhat excited to see if there were updates, or interesting posts, or things like that. And I enjoyed getting IM's/PM's from people, and I was interested in doing stuff to help the site...

Now, though, it seems like everyone is stuck in some sort of time warp, where nothing ever happens and no one seems surprised at it...

How odd...
Perhaps it's you that's changed somehow? I don't mean that derisively--it just that, it seems like such a global change could be a shift in mindset, maybe?

I rarely visit the site anymore; I started by looking at captions and then joined, finally talked, made friends, disappeared to the Navy, reappeared to disappear again... :/ I spend most of my time on IRC, because with the changes in life, I've just found it more comfortable to talk/type in real time than on a forum, which I'd have to check to find out if anything was said. I had a good run, for a straight year on the forums, but then just kinda stopped.

I thought so once, but no, it's not me. I check the forums and hang out on IM just as much as I did before (well, except now I'm working and I wasn't before), but nothing ever seems to be going on. I really don't want to see this site die; I'm perfectly willing to use my spare time to make it work again. Even if I have to do it myself.

It's not the place we come to, it's just that things start getting old. Particularly people. Everything begins to lose the luster it had when we first joined, and try as anyone might, it just doesn't come back.

I know what's depressing: MSF has a bleak future. Beyond a small community it will likely never attain much of any significant impact around the 'Net. It doesn't help that the name is rather disconnected from what inspired the place to begin with. "Where did the name come from?" Is what people will ask. It's not obvious? Nope. It's not the centerpiece nor the sideshow. No one would know how MSF translates into a transformation site with interests in anime, manga and video games. It's akin to an old Wendy's commercial: "Where's the beef?"

Kinda surprised to hear that from a member who joined this site only a few months after I did. You mean you never learned in MSF school that this community started as a website where a single story about an anime tg transformation was hosted, then gradually grew to include more stories, then added a message board, then the rest is history? So that after a new domain name for the main site, a new message board, and multiple complete redesigns of both the message board and the main site, the community is still standing? That story, of course, was "The Magical Sailor Fuku," by Champina, later known as Yumi, who set up magicalsailorfuku.com long before Lady Sakura began her successor site of magicalsailorfuku.net. I don't find that depressing, but your opinion may differ from mine.

Just dropping in for a moment, but thought I'd say that much.

Also,

Great to see you Raijin! Glad to hear that bit of wisdom from MSF's resident expert on being old! ;)

Now back to your regularly scheduled postlessness.

Your response is a good example of disconnection. (Unless this is some kind of abstruse joke. ;/) Somehow you completely missed the point, even though it's more obvious than MSF's inspiration to the newer generation hereabouts.

I can't even think of a simpler way of explaining it to you, it should be that easy to understand. I mean, aside from the fact that what I said suggests that I do know about MSF's history, what I'm referring to is the future, based on present observations. But I guess I can't expect you to notice since a lot of people from "back then" aren't around anymore. Which is my point in a nutshell.
