Daaaaaaaaang guuuuys. :O
Don't take what Ninian is saying as a personal attack. She's not saying you aren't capable of serious creativity, or that enjoying the Muffin Room is bad. And there's nothing wrong with her dislike of it. Different strokes for different folks, you know?
The original intention of the Muffin Room, as I recall way back in ye olden days, was for random silliness. However, not of the RP variety. There was no world, or rules, colors, council, nothin'. It evolved over time into what it is today, a large part of which is still silliness. Which is totally fine. However, it can be difficult for people to participate in it. Now people need to research about things like colors and the various locations, and it also goes at a pace of a million miles a second. If I post something and leave for a day, then come back, it's gone like WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH and I'm left lightyears behind.
It's currently the most popular forum. So it's possible that new people browsing the forums may notice this, will go look at it and go "Whaaat? I don't get it." and then leave.
Considering how much of a "world" the Muffin Room has become, I think it wouldn't hurt to really change it to Muffinville, and describe that forum as the place where the "citizens of MSF" live. It kind of reminds me of an MMO, but in text, you know? (EDIT: lol you beat me to it. Muffinverse!)
Aaaaanyway, I think the idea that people are trying to get across is this: The Muffiny-ness is fine. Have fun, be silly. But MSF has lost some of its creative focus and power over the years. We used to get A LOT of content put out back in the day. In comparison, there's barely a trickle of it now, beyond RPs. So let's think up ways to get the creative juices flowing again.
OR MAYBE I'M WRONG I DUNNO I'M GOING TO BED :O
