I've got a question about bots...

Say, would anyone happen to know if a bot uses a browser of some sort? More importantly, in the case that they do, do they use browsers like IE, Firefox, Netscape, Opera and the like?

I can only hypothise since I really dont know (which makes this post useless i guess :p) but i think there are different kinds of bots. some might enter data trho a webbrowser and some (of this im sure) inject code straight to the database. the latter should only be possible with poorly written code (like my news script :( ) .. i think.

Just like google web crawlers.

They are controlled by pidgeons.

XD

Nah, they are scripts which connect to the port 80 of a website and retrieve and put data.

You don't need a browser to do that. You create the browser.
