As one of the few people here who has actual Japanese heritage, yet I am one of the few who really don't care for Anime here. Anybody else find Irony in this?

Not really. I, for one, wouldn't expect a Japanese person to like anime simply because they are Japanese.

Actually, irony would be someone who can control fire dying by the flames.

Hmmmm... Also, one has to consider that anime isn't solely a Japanese interest; it just happens to come from Japanese. Also, when you think about it, it shouldn't be surprising that anyone, even if they're only partly Japanese, would be desensitized by anime. As far as I know, losing interest for indulging said interest too much is never considered ironic, so... I guess, at best, the irony is minor. Hey! Almost like a heritage! I'm so clever.

Perhaps there is a touch of irony that one of the relatively few people with Japanese heritage here dislikes anime. However, it also reinforces the feeling that this board is very much a place for people who don't quite fit in, or at least don't fit with sterotypes.
Always be yourself

Oh, yeah... While I can't say that I dislike/hate anime as a whole, there is a vast majority of anime that I just have no interest in and find trite, dumb and boring. Just like with live-action movies and television shows. So, worry not, Alex! We shall amass our lack of care powers and transform anime into... emina! Whatever that means.

Something I have heard is unpleasant though it does clean out ones system.

Nah, I think that's enema, raleigh.
As for your question, Alexis....
(I shrug)
Not really...I rather doubt that _everyone_ in Japan loves anime either, so your bases are covered, so to speak...

Ahh.. wrong spelling and a bad joke fail me again. Oh well. No worries, I halfway expect most people of oriental decent to dislike anime in all honesty.
