Okay, I need to make this short. I'm in pain. Being in a position to type is painful. I don't know how long this sudden condition will last. But here's a reason if I do end up being absent longer than usual.

I hope so. Couldn't sleep. Too much discomfort and/or pain in my back and chest no matter how I lie. Gonna browse around awhile until I pass out.

Can't afford it. But I'm sure I'll be fine. I've yet to come across something I couldn't bear. It's just bothersome and I want to limit the chances of making it worse. But, as you can see, I have a bad habit of not following my own advice. ;/

Then it's probably a good thing that you don't know me very well. ^_^;

I'm getting better at finding more agreeable postures and ignoring it in general, anyway. ;p It does suck that it's limiting my mobility, though. Even if I lower my head enough (perhaps half of what I'm capable of) I'll get a particularly unpleasant pang.

I've actually had something simular to that before, but probably nowhere NEAR what you're going through.
Such as, mine was dealt with by laying on my stomach for a little bit. But I'm sure you've tried that. ^^;
Well, I suppose the only thing I can say is God speed in the 'pangs' going away. Let's hope it's a very temp thing.

Oh, yes... But whatever I have makes lying down worse than sitting upright. Laying down is usually an idea I'm ready to implement first-thing, 'cause it tends to help, but this time... God, I don't want to try getting out of bed any time soon; and I thought I had it bad getting in and out of a sitting position. Heck, just reaching out to type on the keyboard had hurt like Hell before I figured out that transferring weight through my arms (like I do when I get in and out of chairs) to support my torso would help.
The funny thing is, is that this started when I stood up from the toilet. ;/ So I have no idea what this is. I just wonder if the discomfort that I had in the lower-left half of my back was a precursor to this, since that had popped up suddenly, too, although while I slept. I figured that I had pulled a muscle, or had a kidney problem, but either way it's strange that that's gone within hours of this starting. Ah, well...
Knowing my luck it'll be temporary and I'll come out of it alive. And I've learned what not to do to avoid the breath-taking kind of pangs, so there's that, too. It's just annoying to feel achy (by default) within half of my torso and not really knowing the cause.

Sounds like something along the lines of a spur on the spine or possibly the pulled muscles. If its the spur, nothing short of surgery will really help (Had three relatives with this.) but if its simply the muscle then hopefully it will fade like most muscle pains. If its a kidney thing well all I can say is hope it is simply a stone so it will pass soon, though painful they are usually not lethal, rather than what else could be wrong with them. About where in general is this starting at? Near the head or the base? Well I suppose the base since you mentioned the kidneys. Have you been hit in the stomach particularly hard recently?

Nah. The problem in the kidney area was gone just before this happened. The area where it hurts seems to depend on how I move and where my weight is distributed, but it generally stays around the middle section of my torso (although is has gone lower or higher when I did something that really seemed to bring the pain out). At first it seemed that I was having pain that originated inside, somewhere just below or behind my rib cage, but there does seem to be pain in a certain place in my back. I dunno... Maybe it is my back; my mid-back hurts when I lower my head too much, for example. I mean, I noticed it, but I wasn't really paying attention to it. ^_^; I was just attributing it to the pain that I usually felt more on the inside though relatively in the same area.
Now I'm bending and twisting this way and that... Ouch. XD;; I guess I had gotten right on the ball of being careful with my movements and didn't feel the full effect of the pain while doing normal stuff. And now that I think about it... I guess I know why lying down hurt so much. I just didn't realize until now since I was more drawn by the pain in my lower chest area that made it harder for me to breathe.
Oh, well. It sounds like I'll live. I'll just stay up until it goes away. ;p

Well, it seems to be gone. If it was a pulled muscle by my spine at least I now know that something like that can have various effects. I mean, from raising my arms or just bowing my head a little? Sheesh.
I decided to stay up for three days, went to bed at night to try and get back on a "normal" sleeping schedule, but I ended up sleeping for twenty-three hours... So much for that plan. ;/ But at least I more or less got the three eight-hour rests that I had skipped.
But, yeah, I'm fine. Just bored and felt like saying something.
