The Venting Thread

(Feel free to move this if this is not the appropriate room, admins)

Work got you down? School stressing you out? Does life just suck?

You've come to the right thread. This is the place where you can just let it all out in one place without resorting to violence. Just complain about whatever you want, saying whatever you want however you want (with regard to forum rules, of course). Just no cussing. Abbreviate or something. And don't go putting down other people on the forum, either. This is so you can complain about real life suckiness. If you've got problems with the forum, go to the comments room.

Now that that's out of the way, let the vent-fest commence!

*Eyes bulge and spin in their sockets; teeth grind and spark; drool drops from my mouth and steam billows from my ears*

Saturday: Wii found! For $200 at pawn shop! Owner of the pawn shop is a friend of my mother's husband, and the subject had come up. But the Wii was at the pawn shop owner's home, because he had wanted to see what all the rage was about (even though he didn't play video games), so he'd have it at the shop on Monday.

Monday: The owner of the pawn shop doesn't bring the Wii because he decided to keep it. Turns out he liked it. XD;; But he's persuaded to carry on with the sale, so he says he'll bring it in on Tuesday (today).

Tuesday: He somehow forgot to bring it with him when he went to work.

...

He doesn't work tomorrow, but says he'll have the person working the shop tomorrow bring it in.

Wednesday: An undetermined future. Do we fondle goat balls? Inspect livers or intestines? Rolls the bones? Consult the runes?

GAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWD!!!! X_X

(I'm so wound up in part because, anticipating the system, all of the extra accessories and games have been bought. Now the games taunt me. They mock me. "Ha, ha!" They say! "We're as good as paper weights until you get a Wii!" And, indeed, that is true. The games are holding down some paper, pamphlets and receipts at this very moment. <_<; )

Okay; as some of you know, my job has been getting increasingly frustrating. We've had a couple of new lows recently. First off, on Friday we were told we have to bring in written excuses for any time we have off; sick days, personal days, what have you. A doctor's excuse or a written explanation of precisely why we took a day off. We were also told we must schedule doctor's appointments and the like for after-hours, so as not to miss work... when most of these places don't let you schedule appointments for that time, because they're closed too! It's like they're breathing down our necks, treating us like grade-schoolers, giving us no room to breathe or, for that matter, respect as adults.
Now on to part two. We got a lot of snow yesterday; everything was a royal mess, to put it bluntly. We had several people miss because of this. In the afternoon, we were told, and I quote, "bad weather is no excuse not to come in to work." This on a day where there had been constant steady snowfall, the roads had never been plowed and were a veritable slog... and one of the people who missed tried to come in, made crawling minimal progress for two hours, and only turned back when she narrowly missed wrecking her car! So yeah, apparently personal safety comes second.... Needless to say, my entire department is stewing, by now. And most of us want out.... So yeah, because of their "Big Brother is watching you" policies and ever-tightening fist, they're likely going to lose themselves most of a department in the probably not too distant future.... If I can ever get interviews, of course. :P I can hardly put THAT down as my excuse, after all. I'd probably get fired on the spot.... And as much as I want out of there, I need to have something else lined up first.

That's the thing I like least about work. Becoming dependent on the money you earn. Thankfully I don't have anything to vent about, but I do have some comments on things that's frustrated previous posters.

Keaton, if it were an hour spent after school or durring a lunch period I could understand, but since you didn't specify I would first think that you got called to the office durring a normal period, which certainly shouldn't upset you if there wasn't any reason.

Nekkid that's quite understandable =o at least you get to have a new gen system! That is, if you received it since you made that post XD

Raijin... Let's make a deal, if you ever have any complaints about working somewhere that I've applied to 18 times over the course of five years to never even get an interview, we trade jobs =D (Which reminds me I should submit another application cause I'm not exactly enjoying my second job XD)

I hurt everywhere. I don't know why...I just...hurt. It's less of a real pain than it is a dull twinge of an ache...
My heart hurts, too. My disbelief in love is straining.

Not so much a vent as an odd observation.

I apparently work with people too stupid to acknowledge the fact that just because you see a blank page as a scanned document, it doesn't mean that it is an system error. In fact chances are that all you need to do is press a button and whoa! There is the info you need on the OTHER SIDE!

I never thought I'd work with people who are too stupid to turn a page over but hey, life is full of surprises.

Good thing I made this thread beforehand. Several things:

I was sick yesterday and missed several cool things at school, including ice cream.
I'm failing Algebra 2 and my parents, being stupid, are seriously limiting my game time (including time here) until I get it up. In other words, I might as well just go dormant for a while.
Valentine's Day is seriously depressing for a single guy like myself.
Work. Just. Sucks. Especially at 10:30.

That's all I can think of for now. There's bound to be something later.

I did not have a nice afternoon.... Most of work today was slow and boring. Then, about 2:30 or so, I got flurried with an essential barrage of work- just one box after another after another after another- that lasted about an hour. Usually the secretaries are slow that time of day, but I'd swear they were racing to see who could get more stuff done faster. I had to leave a couple things undone because I got too much too fast. So yeah, I'm in a bad mood as I get out of work. I get to the bus stop. And wait... and wait... no bus... no buses at all.... I'm getting worried.... Finally, fifteen minutes late- at 4:25 instead of 4:10- I see it coming. But... there's a big line of cars all sitting in front of the stop. It goes over into the other lane. I get the idea that it's going to merrily sail on past without stopping- a legitimate concern, given our city's mass transit system. It stops because of more traffic. I run down to try to get on board before it pulls away again- and promptly slip in a pile of slush and fall on my face on the road. Pants soaking wet and knee aching from getting banged, I limp over to get on the bus... only to have the ride home take twice as long as normal. The traffic was horrendous- probably why it was so late- and a ride that is normally fifteen minutes took half an hour. Then the sidewalks all the way to my apartment were literally coated in ice.... I finally limped into my apartment an hour after I got off work, when I usually get there less than half an hour later, and only have the energy to make myself a lousy frozen French bread pizza for dinner, because I didn't care enough to do anything warranting an effort. After changing my pants and putting a band-aid on my knee, that is. :? As far as I'm concerned, the only good thing that happened today was that the mother of one of my co-worker's sent homemade butter cookies along for us all, which were delicious. Other than that, it was a bust. I just want this day to be over....

I think my managers are trying to kill me.

They have me working 5 days this week on top of school and other things. The only reason I got off early Sunday (which was a frickin' 10:30 shift) was because I got sick. So I'm not getting much of anything done on here this week. Sorry.
