I'm relaunching my website... so why not have a contest?

All right everyone, as I said before, CONTEST TIME! Here is the short of it. For those of you who don't read the stories section, I have a website where I post my TG stories I write. I've got two short stories up there, a StarTrek-like story called "Crew Shift", and my current story "Magical Girl Policy" is a parody of anime like Sailor Moon. I've been posting for about a year and a half and have decided it's time for me to rework my website. To celebrate I'm having a contest I thought I would let all you MSFers know about since it seems right up your alley. Here is the info:

Date: Contest ends on August 14th, so you have about a week. I might extend the date if there are enough people who have entries their working on but just can't turn them in by then, but don't plan on it. Plan on having it done by the 7th.
What: Turn in either a fan art or fan story that is based upon Magical Girl Policy. What the fan art or fan work is, can be completely left up to you. More detail below
Rules: Nothing pornographic. Remember, the characters are in high school. They are minors.
Where do I turn my fan-work in: Email your fanwork to me at my email address- taralynnand@gmail.com
How is it being judged: The #1 criteria will be "was it enjoyable?" It can be serious, it can be silly, it can be funny, whatever. I just have to enjoy it. I will have two other judges (who will remain anonymous) judge the material so you're not appealing to me alone.
What is the prize: The winner will earn a FREE commissioned short story (about 2-3 pages long in Word) by me, world renowned author, Taralynn Andrews. Your concept, I write it for you! What more could you want?
Can I submit multiple entries: Yes, oh yes!
Are you going to post this on your site: I would LIKE to post these in my new "FanWorks" section but I won't if you don't want me to. Just let me know in your emails if you are okay with me posting

Now, like I said, due August 14th. Don't delay.

As for ideas for fan works, they can be something like maybe Magical Girl Policy characters crossing over with some other genre, a funny comic dealing with a hypothetical situation, or maybe something as crazy as the Spirit Guard (Spirit Guard is my magical girl team name) dressed up as Care Bears. Just make it enjoyable! I know there is a lot of creativity on this site, so get to work!

PS: If you write AND draw a picture... well, you earned bonus points!
PPS: If you have any more questions but don't want to give away ideas to anyone else, PM me or email me. If you have questions about the contest in general, feel free to just post them here in the thread.
PPPS: I wasn't sure where to post this thread but I thought it was different enough that it shouldn't be in the Stories section. If my placement of this thread offends anyone, sorry.

Here or Events will probably get more traffic than Stories, anyway, so it's more than cool. XD

Anyway, I just wanted to suggest pushing back the due date a bit. From personal experience with MSF, although, it could also be a matter of a lack of participants. Just don't be surprised if you do have to push the date back.

Of course, it'd be nice to be proven wrong.

Yeah, originally I was only going to have it be a fan art contest but after talking with a few people who pointed out they can write but not draw I decided to expand it out to art and fanfics. As for the date, yeah a lot of it just depends on the number of participants. IF I don't have enough completed entries by the 7th I'll extend it out another week.

I been thinkin' 'bout this.

I might have something in mind you might enjoy. I still have to write/draw it up, though.

A few questions first:
1. What's the rating limit? PG-13? Lower?
2. Does it absolutely have to be TG? If not, there are several ideas I could toss around.
3. I've received compliments on my crap that people refer to as "art", (linky) but I'm not the best ever by a long shot. Would those suffice?

Stupid questions from a limited mind. But I figure it's worth a shot.

Thanks for the questions Haylie. I'll answer them in order.

1) I think a rating limit around PG-13 sounds about right. Let's go with that.
2) No it doesn't have to be TG. Just has to be enjoyable.
3) Your art is just fine. The quality of the artwork isn't as important as the idea itself. Just as in the 2nd question, just has to be enjoyable and your art is most definitely good enough for that. I think your art looks just fine! And anyone who says otherwise you have my permission to beat them up... yeah!

FINALLY! SOMEONE WHO LIKES MY ART BUT DOESN'T KNOW ME PERSONALLY!!!!

Ahem. Sorry. But thanks for the compliment. I'm happy now.

I'm not sure what you mean by "an Assassin's Creed kind of thing." Sorry. Maybe PM me a more in depth explanation

Hey, just letting everyone know, I'm extending the contest out until the 14th of August (next Thursday) so you have more time to get your entries in. So... uh... yeah, more time! Yay!

Also, I'm relaunching the website tomorrow so check out http://taralynn.sincomics.com tomorrow to see the new look, new stories, and new project.

Is anyone planning on turning in an entry? The prize is a free commissioned story by me. Here's an example of what the prize is like if you need a feel for how long my commissioned stories are.

I sorta-kinda have an idea... it's sort of more original, and I wasn't really planning for your characters to make an appearance...

Unless, of course, you want them to. I think I could do that.

Here's a basic outline:
Two teens, a boy and a girl, who have been friends since forever, have a run-in with something that normal people should never see: A demon. A group of angels show up and defeat it, inquire as to why the two can see it, (but of course, they don't know), and take them up to see the Big Man (I'll avoid His name for the moment, if only for the sake of opinion). They're chosen by the Man himself to be part of an angelic squad to help rid the world of evil... discreetly.

Unfortunately, the leader of this little band is a bit of a feminist, and doesn't take kindly to the boy being chosen, and tries to work it how she wants it.

It's still a work in progress, so if you want anything changed or have any suggestions, I'll be glad to listen. Preferably by PM, though.

You have time. I haven't even started working on it, yet.

I would be turning in an entry if I had any skills with writing or drawing, but unfortunately I'm less than gifted in those areas. x_X
