Well, its a new year with new cons. I myself am planning to go to Ayacon and Fuyucon this year if I can.

Anyone else coming to either of these...or going to other ones. Let this be the general con discussion thread for this year.

GO!

While I have no intent to go to those cons, I will be going to Momocon at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia in a month and a half from now. It will be glorious as both me and Aires will be there working on Staff (actually, I'll be head of Console Gaming... cause I play a lot of Console games, yeah, right. <_<), Xia and Kouryuu Kisaki will both likely be showing up to torment me for Musa's amusement, and we may have a Garath and Duck going there as well, since they didn't tell me about them being their last year. Until after the fact.

So, that aside, it's free, it's going down in March, and if you live nearby you should go. Cause it's free, and we'll basically be having a mini MSF convention.

...To torment me. Yeah.

I may also be going to Anime Weekend Atlanta again if I can manage to get free tickets and DragonCon for kicks. Both are in the Atlanta area in the fall, so they're both a ways off, but are both fairly large and well known in the Southeast at least. Granted, they do cost money to go to, but eh, they're big and have lots of people going to them, making them fun.

That's what I have for now.

heh, well, as with all these major cons, I have no chance of going....unless I can suddenly teleport across the Atlantic...which would be cool. Oh well, that's what I get for living in the UK

^_^ I will be going to Kumoricon again this year, after having to miss out 'cause of Opending Days for college the last time. I had been planning on attending Sakuracon as weell...~~But the group I had been hoping to go with backed out for financial reason.

Sorry, I'm in the wrong part of the world for any of those. I'll be doing Tekkoshocon in April, though, as well as Origins (a gamer convention) the end of June, and Otakon in the spectrum of August or so (depending on exactly when they schedule it this year). That's my usual slate of choices.

I'll most defently be at Momocon this year. I've been going (saturday only) for the past three years now. :P

Now that I know where to actually FIND you Helel. I'll most certainly be stopping by to say hi.

Of course I'll be there all 'four' days of Anime Weekend Atlanta. Not only on the three days the con actually is, but on Thursday the 'pre-day' before the con. Especally since "Super Happy Fun Sale" should be going on once again.

Though anyone planning on going to AWA. Be warned if looking for me. I hang out with my anime club, and the madness we produce could cripple you.

(And they know all about my intrest in TG anime stuff, and this site, so don't think you can use that to embaress me. :P)

Since i live close to Jericho, Kansas that is...

there are only two cons that i will be attending this year, both of which, are fairly close together

AWFW (Anime World Fair Witchita) - small con, normally a few thousand people, a large buyers-only area, requires special tickets to get in V_V darn pre-regs and their ability to hand over money early!) normally with concerts by small anime-related bands that they can coax over here...usual an AMV contest, and previews for this years upcoming anime

NDK- (Nan Desu Kon Colorado Springs, Colorado) - I haven't attended NDK, but a friend of mine gushes that it is amazing and that since I thought AWFW was cool, NDK will roxxor my soxxors.

Don't forget I might be helping you on the Console Gaming staff at MomoCon, because AUSAM is like Jess's puppy club over here at Auburn, so she gives us treats like staff applications. On that matter, I already attended AUSAM-Con here, during my first weekend back at Auburn. If you're likely to get into Con-drama, STAY AWAY. Otherwise, nice small convention here at Auburn. Next year, we might actually be able to hold at the Convention Center...

Anyways, others may include AWA, since that's in Atlanta and I have connections there, if anywhere. Also, FreeCon in Tallahassee might happen for me; it depends on where it falls and the status on my coursework at that point. Don't know about DragonCon, but some of my newer friends HIGHLY recommend it. Then again, I was warned that it might not be the place for me given what happened at AUSAM-Con. Helel, you know some of what I'm talking about...

I recommend cosplaying as something ugly. :P

ARGH! Momocon! Damn, I'd forgotten all about it. Probably too late to make plans for it now...

My original plans for the year were to hit Anime Central in May (missed last year) and Anthrocon in July, now that it looks like work will permit it.

Judging by pictures of anime cons I have seen on other forums, there are plenty of ugly cosplayers already, intentional or not.

I personally are not going to anime con and don't on doing so in the forseeable future, probably because I'd get beaten up by angry anime fans when I blunder around drunkenly asking just about everyone in sight what the hell is going on and why my face is wet.
