Heard about it? I thought it was funny when they said how it was so bad that it was happening across the country. Well, duh: they were made so you could reach out and touch someone.

There are always such risks with any kind of correspondence. The problem is that they're usually easy to avoid altogether with a little thing called intelligence. But a lot of people either don't get that memo, or ignore it. That's humanity, for you.

Personally, I could care less. It falls under the same logic that makes liquor available for consumption: it's okay so long as it's used responsibly. If it isn't, you get sick, you have accidents, and people die.

But people are very irresponsible when it comes to sex because many don't know enough about what is required to be responsible. And so something as simple as sharing sex videos over a distance can lead to unsafe sex, traps into non-consensual sex, and worse.

You call that simple? Hate to sound like a nun but I've gotta disagree.

But on the whole, I've got to say this is a non-issue. The internet has been around for a while.

If I really wanted to cut down on this I would try and de-sex popular media.

Who's to say how sexually liberal our society should be.

Thankfully George W Bush solved this problem completely.

He made us worry about the economy more and forget it.

Just saying. Though de-sexing popular media would probably just have the opposite effect, as it so often does. People love to do forbidden things. It's not that simple, of course, since humanity is a complex species... But, on the other hand, they also have a tendency to fall into the same groove. To get stuck in ruts. (Not to pardon the pun.)

I'll just blame it on idiocy, since that tends to be behind a lot of bad ideas and decisions.

Otherwise, I suppose I can't talk since I have no interest in sex. But still. The topic was arousing enough for me to talk about.

That's because there's a huge group of morons stuck in the 14th century who still feel it is wrong to even bring the subject up. Quite frankly, considering how evil sex supposedly is, I'm amazed we even managed to get here at all.

That's because there's a huge group of morons stuck in the 14th century who still feel it is wrong to even bring the subject up. Quite frankly, considering how evil sex supposedly is, I'm amazed we even managed to get here at all.

I disagree. Even if you provide plenty of sex-ed and stress safe sex, some kids'll just be too stupid/irresponsible to understand the consequences and ignore you. I do not think conservatives are to blame for youth's foolish decisions. Pregnancy and STIs all sound very hypothetical, and hormones are very real.

Of course there will still be those that are too stupid and/or irresponsible, regardless of what they're taught. Along with the knowledge you need to have the wisdom to make proper use of it. But certain faith-related ideas certainly don't help. In the end it depends on the individual and how much of a critical thinker they are. And in that regard I don't consider humanity to be all that much of an intelligent race. Humanity is crazy, at the very least, since it keeps repeating the same mistakes with similar solutions without learning from them. Sex and marriage being among them.

Give minors a venue of communication and they'll find a way to have sex on it. It's the natural order of things.
