So, let me first start this off by saying that I am a terrible person. I have done things in my lifetime which I do regret, and regret very heavily. Though I have never once wished for injustices to happen, but I digress greatly from my topic.
Alright. So there are a few people that put forth terrible things on the internet, and the specific few I am referring to have Aspergers. The most notable of which is Christian Chandler, AKA Chris-chan, AKA CWC, AKA the crazy Sonichu guy. I have put forth time to research said few people with Aspergers, especially CWC, as he lives very close to me(Just one county over), and I have taken note that I have quite a number of things in common with these people.
It has been bugging me for some time now, so tonight I decided to look up the actual symptoms of this condition... What I learned from this little venture is that I have exhibited most all of the listed symptoms on WebMD. And let me tell you, this explains EVERYTHING. I've always been socially awkward, set a routine to pretty much everything, including human interaction, at times I've had trouble picking up on sarcasm and have been quite gullible, I've always been pre-occupied with my own personal interests, most notably Sonic(Which is funny to those that do their research, I know. HA HA), and I've never learned to ride a bike or swim reliably.
So... this has hit me pretty hard for what emotions I actually exhibit... I'm probably an Aspie... It makes me question a LOT of stuff in my life...

Don't let yourself feel bad about yourself because of your findings. There are many different levels on the Asperger/Autistic spectrum so just because you are diagnosed with it does not mean you are doomed to be dysfunctional in society. If you are really concerned that you might have Aspergers or Autism I recommend seeing a specialist instead of just relying on information from the web as it is quite easy to self diagnose yourself with all kinds of things. I myself thought I was suffering from a heart attack once because my arms kept falling asleep. Turns out I merely pinched a nerve while surfing the internet.
Besides many great men in history have been thought to have autism or aspergers such as Einstein, Thomas Jefferson and Sir Isaac Newton so you are among great company if you do have the syndrome.

That's the thing about the Internet: You can't really rely on it for anything.
I, also, am very socially awkward and can't swim, but that's mostly because of my physical condition, or lack thereof, and I don't live near water. I'm also sarcastic, but that's just what I do. I'm somewhat self-centered, but if I weren't, my sister would've eaten me alive.
And yet it's all coincidence, and I don't have Aspergers. It might just be your personality. It's hard to come across a teen or young adult that isn't sarcastic and self-centered, that's just how it is.
Self-diagnosis is an all-too easy thing to do. If I think I might have something, I'll let a doctor tell me. That's what they're there for. So if you think you might have Aspergers or Autism, get an apointment with the appropriate doctor and find out for sure, and take steps from there.

Self Disagnostic of Aspergers is one of the most common things on the internet, if you think you might have a medical condition you should have a doctor check it out.

I agree with Lian. So many people think they have Aspergers or any other disorder in the autistic spectrum simply because they're socially awkward or have narrow interests. Just having a few of them doesn't make you an Aspie. In order to be offically recognised as such, you must display not only those traits but also lack of empathy, be easily stimulated by bright lights and loud noises, talk to much about a certain subject and above all, have severe difficulty in social situations. Not wanting to talk to people or not knowing what to say doesn't count. It has to be not knowing when something is or is not appropriate to bring up or randomly blurting things out or trying to steer topics to your own interests.
If you're worried that you're going to end up like CWC, don't be. He is the result of years of coddling from his parents and not having to stand up for his mistakes because he's autistic. He is messed up in the head. You're not.
And by the way, if you don't know what we're talking about people, don't look it up. It's... traumatising.

First, self diagnosis is only the first step. You need to be professionally evaluated.
Second, you are you regardless. If indeed you are correct, it simply means you'll be able to understand yourself better. This sort of revelation can be shattering to a person's sense of self, but only if you let it be. This isn't like finding out you only have three months to live; you're putting a name to something you've been your entire life.
I was adopted. My parents always made sure I knew I was. It wasn't any big deal because it was never treated as such. This is as much a problem of perception for you as anything. If you'd been diagnosed young it wouldn't be that big of a deal because it always would've been normal.
So relax, think about how this actually affects you, in real concrete terms, and know that your friends here will always stand by you. This doesn't change a thing as far as we're concerned. *SNUGGLES!*
