I just read this article and I wanted to share my feelings about it:

JACKSON, Miss. – An 18-year-old Mississippi lesbian student whose school district canceled her senior prom rather than allow her to escort her girlfriend and wear a tuxedo said she got some unfriendly looks from classmates when she reluctantly returned to campus Thursday.

Urgh ! It's such a poor example the school district gives to the students and future citizens : If you fear to loose a trial, you should use every available mean to bypass the judgment. Even if that includes denying a whole class their prom and branding a single child as responsible for it.

What else is new, though? If people really understood love, this wouldn't happen.

Actually, if people understood anything this wouldn't happen.... or if they weren't afraid of things they didn't understand.

They are, they are.

But the school district seems to have a very unapologetic stance.

It is extremely depressing to see a group of adults and children cooperating and setting up a trap to prevent someone from attending a community meeting. It shows a great deal of rejection and failure to speak out. I doubt these values are what high school is supposed to teach. But maybe this is the kind of education most parents in Fulton want for their children.

So because of one person's personal life choices, you have to ruin everyones fun. It's like dropping a nuke on a lone gunman. Overkill!
