The gamble of a failing company (McDonald's)

This group of idiots knows that they are on the fast track for a major decline, possible bankruptcy and maybe even closing down. Now when I say fast track, I don't mean a year or two. It'll take longer than that unless there are problems being hid from investors. But this just isn't something you do when you're on top of your game. This is a desperation move.

McDonald's puts patent on sandwiches (in UK)

Tuesday, November 21, 2006
McDonald's wants to own the rights to how a sandwich is made.

The fast-food chain has applied for a patent relating to the 'method and apparatus' used to prepare the snack.

The burger company says owning the 'intellectual property rights' would help its hot deli sandwiches look and taste the same at all of its restaurants.

It also wants to cut down on the time needed to put together a sandwich, thought to have been dreamt up by the Earl of Sandwich in 1762.

No doubt, they will try to do the same in the US.

Just like Microsoft.

Trying to put patents on everything.

Last thing we know is that the air is property of some multinational corporation and you can't breath without paying.

You know, some guys in Star Control 2 in fact did make company air.

And, the air comment also makes me think of Star Control II.

Honestly, I think Chick Fil A has the best patent opportunity. After all, they didn't invent chicken. Just the chicken sandwich!

Did someone say... Star Control 2? *_* (Woo-hoo for games!)

But, yeah... I think there should be a limit on just what you can patent. You know, to avoid extremes with minutia and all.

This is too much I say. Why do they waste so much time with law stuff and not make the food taste good/better? -_-

I worked there for awhile, but I had to quite caues they were being a ass to me and makeing me work there ALOT latter then I should of been.

As for this whole sandwitch thing, ya there are probly the thing that takes us the longest to make. But that's more caues there is almost always something missing from the sandwitch station, and there isn't any one around to watch it like a hawk.

Yeah the patent system is messed up. First off you need a Patent lawyer and lots of cash to secure a patent. Second off there's no clear guidelines as to what qualifies as a patent. Originally patents were meant to ensure that people who invented things managed to make money off them so more people would invent things. Now people are patenting ridiculous things like sandwichs, emotes, and instant buy buttons.
