I just came up with this epic story, but I don't think I'll ever be able to write it. Y.Y Life is so cruel, ofttimes...
But...
Maybe someone would know how to help me accomplish it. The biggest obstacle that I have, is initiation and following through. I am very easily distracted, you see... And have a severe lack of energy to focus toward things.

Tell us more about it, and we'll see what we can do to help. I like epic stories. Any motivational assistance we can provide would be good, I'm sure. But we need more info first.

Yeah, I have that problem, too. But all you need is patience (and take a lot of time on the details.), and to get to know the main protagonists well. When you've fleshed out the characters so well that they're like real people, well.. it becomes easier to focus on the story. Well, that's what I'm doing with my story. Sorry if it doesn't help, but go ahead and follow Guen's advice! Tell us more! *sits down*

I knew you'd get the wrong idea. ;p
I just need help getting started, and finishing it. But I don't know what I can do to drive myself, especially since the story is so daunting to me... There are definitely areas where I lack in the skill department, that'll be in the story. Mostly "story apparel", which are things that make environments. Since I'm a hermit, I don't see and hear much about the real world. ^_^;
But, if you want to know what the story's about... Well, I don't want to give it away, since I want to make sure that I'm the one that writes it (because I'm the only one that can do it justice ;p). What is in it, well... Vampires, werewolves, aliens, Atlantis and a believable conspiracy in a modern sci-fi/adventure/mystery/action setting (I reckon XD;; ). Of course, there's certainly some TG... But my main focus is the story. And it's a whopper. @_@

Then do so! Maybe your imagery will provide some extra inspiration.

Hm...just give yourself the time to get started, free yourself from distractions, and work on it.
That's the only way I can get something done. (An exception is Music, if it helps you focus.)

I say, jump in headfirst. When I have a problem getting a project started, I take a deep breath and throw myself into the shallow end.
Ooh, ooh. Or you could serialize it. Break it up into tiny parts that you don't have to necessarily do in order. If you've got a really Awesome Mc. Cool part, just right to that and write it so you'll be psyched for writing the rest.

But wouldn't it be better to anticipate the best for last, instead of doing the best first and only having to look forward to the least better parts later? XD
Oh, and MSF is a major distraction, so I'd probably have to leave here first to get anything started. Of course, I have doubts that I'll be able to do even that, even when I do leave MSF. *Sighs*

Just write the story, or at least parts of it, and have surfing around MSF be your reward.

That could work too. All I'm saying in, gets yourself into it. Make yourself psyched to do it. If you don't think of it as a chore, it won't be. I like to do fun stuff like making side projects into stuff.
If this place is distracting you, try to multi task. Or if that doesn't work, try to schedule time for what you want and your story. Frankly, that last thing is a do as I say not as I do thing 'cuz I write my best stuff randomly or under pressure of deadline. If all else fails, maybe a break from MSG is required. Just as long as it's that important to you.
