Is there a way he can report them or get them shut down or something? They vandalized his site about his dead nephew and every other site he had, they where directly targeting him, it really disgust me and something should be done.

I dunno if you guys have any experience with these guys, I'm just so angry though that someone would do this to him, he is the nicest guy and I want to help him out.

I can't help with anything in specific, but... So long as you have evidence of the culprits (or know how to get evidence (or someone who does)), it's usually not impossible to find some authority that can take care of it. That's what I think, anyway. ^_^; Not that I know much of anything. <.<;

it's really hard to prove anything over the web... honestly not to sure what the legal authorities could do without direct proof, (and them listing there own name wouldn't be direct proof simply cause it may just be a singular person that choose to affliate to that site to spite them as well, ip addresses can be changed or proxied so it makes it diffcult on that end to), i'm sure there's something but to be honest i've never really looked it up so i'm not sure.

Contact the service provider that hosts your relative's site.

If it's something like Geocities then something will probably never get done.

But if it's a website that he or she has paid for and online with its own domain then there's a chance something can be done but it depends on the hosting company, how good their customer service is and what kind of logs they keep.

The only suggestion I have is keep your passwords "strong," don't use simple passwords like "Jesus" or the like. "$t89K##" would be a good password. Random gibberish basically, and combos of letters, numbers and symbols.

I pretty much doubt you could do much to punish the attackers.

There is no organization which controls the web.

assuming you have logs of the events in question, you can go to the ISP of the attackers

aside from that, I believe the statue for cybercrime in the US is something around the lines of $5000 in damage before authorities will get involved. or something
