Well, since I've been slacking off on it for a long time, plus I need help with this one, I figured I'd post what I have, and take comments.
As you can see, I'm trying something new for the design; it's going to be darker than the previous. However, the artwork I'm using is only a placeholder, and I need some non-copyrighted artwork to put in the final design. Also, I'm trying to squeeze the layout in the top using submenus again; if people would prefer I didn't, let me know and I'll try something else.

It's not bad, Selly. It's a little too dark for me, it reminds me of when I used to go on the funimation boards.(ugh, I wouldn't like to remember THAT very much.) and how everything there was basically all black. I wouldn't use it personally, because it would probably hurt my eyes wen I switched to a brighter site.

White on black designs can screw with your eyes the same as black on white, that's why most people design sites that are neither. No problem witht he page structure though.

I'll try something darker than white; I'm just worried about legibility. I don't really want to make the whole thing lighter; I'm trying to get away from the whole light-colored scheme.

Hm, what about a navy blue instead of just black?

If white's too much of a shock, how about using a light pastel color instead of white. Many pastels are easy on the eyes and can prevent eye-rabies. It's a scientrifical fact.

Navy blue sucks with the current pic. Of course, I can't use the current pic on the final version, so that's really moot. I'll probably try it again if/when I get replacement pics for the final version ^^
Speaking of which, I need someone to DO the replacement pics...
Edit: Added the topic about artwork here:

Maybe a little too black. There are too many empty places you may want to fill...
I would suggest you to stay away from the boxes.
Circles, create more fillets.

One question that I can think of, is about the navigation. I just want to know how it works because I don't know what would happen if I clicked "stories." Would it take you to a page where you choose between the three kinds of stories, or would it act as a sort of submenu and change on the same page?

Sweet. I was hoping it'd work like that. I alway liked dropdown menus for some reason. ^_^;

by Guest, for now
Hi hi, I might be able to draw something for the site, but I'd need way more information on exactly it is you want ^^
this is an unfinished sketch of mine to give you an idea of what my stuff looks like:
I haven't drawn the face yet >_<As far as the background/color theme of the site goes, pure black is okay, but you have to be really careful with it, or it will look messy and distract from the actual content of the site.

I sort of stopped in the middle of drawing the characters you mentioned in the art thread. There were several reasons, two main ones is that MSF didn't seem to go by the 'princess' scheme at the time (it still doesn't as far as i know) and I don't know the characters from the game. Besides that, I feel MSF should have it's own nameless characters, rather then putting fan art of sorts on it.
But, i'm not great at coming up with nameless characters =p If anyone has decent ideas, poses, styles, and looks to suggest I would definately give another shot at a peice or two of art.

I do like the layout and the idea for the picture, just not the color scheme. Mix it up some, and I'll post again.
