Ookalf's Characters (Updates Periodically)
Posted: Fri Jun 06, 2008 7:47 pm
Name: "Ookalf" *true name unknown*
Sex: Male
Usual Clothes: Jeans, a black t-shirt with a picture of Kamen Rider 1 on it, and a wolf-skin belt. On the belt is a belt buckle in the shape of a wolf's face, carved from wolf bone.
Physical Appearance: Heavily tanned caucasian with brown hair and blue eyes, average height, fairly muscular.
Age: Unknown. Probably early to mid twenties.
Biography: Abandoned in a forest for reasons unknown to all, the infant who would be known as Ookalf was adopted by a she-wolf. Though she made it clear to him from an early age that he was not a true wolf and never would be, he didn't care. As far as he was concerned, they were family.
They lived peacefully in this manner for many years, until one day some strange creatures mysteriously appeared in the forest. They attacked the boy's mother, fatally wounding her. Their mission accomplished, they disappeared as suddenly as they came. In her final moments, the wolf explained to her son the nature of these creatures, and why they had been after her.
Once, she had been an ordinary wolf. But that changed when she was captured by agents of an organization known as Geka. They conducted cruel experiments on her, using a combination of magic and science to change her into a "super-wolf", intending to use her as the basis of an army which they would be able to use to conquer the world. One day, a member of Geka who had become disillusioned with the organization's evil intentions freed her, and helped her to hide in the forest where she would one day encounter the boy who would be her son. The creatures that had attacked her were demons, summoned by Geka to eliminate her.
She told him that once she had died, he was to make a belt from her skin, and a buckle from her bones. She then used the last of her strength to teleport herself and her son (magical super-wolf, remember?) to the home of the man who had saved her from Geka all those years ago. With that she died.
After much wacky hijinks, the wolf's son was finally calmed and clothed by the man. The son then told the man (who from here on shall be known by his name, Ryan Steinbeck) of his life, much as I have told you. After the tale was finished, Ryan asked his guest for his name. Upon realizing that the strange man had no name, (The wolf had only ever called him "Son".) he dubbed his guest Ookalf, saving the narrator a lot of awkwardness.
Ryan, a craftsman by trade, was able to create the belt that the wolf had requested. After Ookalf put it on, he was met with a surge of knowledge. By uttering the word, "Henshin", he was able to become the Kamen Rider Ookalf, the defender of justice.
Many months passed. Over this period, Ookalf battled the demons that Geka frequently summoned to attempt to kill him. He made many friends and enemies, and gained a sweet motorcycle which he dubbed the Machine Howler. After about a year of this, he discovered the location of Geka's HQ.
Ookalf and Ryan stormed the base, freeing animals who had been experimented on like Ookalf's mother, destroying their demon army, and eventually killing their leader. After the leader's defeat, one of his few remaining minions activated the bases self-destruct mechanism, hoping to kill the ones who had slain his master. Ryan was able to escape, but the entrance collapsed before Ookalf could follow. Thinking quickly, he found the portal device that Geka had used to summon the demons. Altering the portal's coordinates he drove through the portal on the Howler, hoping that it wouldn't lead to a dimension full of slobbering, ravenous space lemurs.
He landed in MSF, which may and/or may not be worse.
Personality: Ookalf's basically a nice guy, always willing to help someone in need. Reasonably intelligent, although the fact that he's only lived one year as a human means his eduction in certain basic subjects is somewhat lacking.
Equipment:
*Wolf Belt: If you read the backstory, you should already know what this is. But just in case... A magical belt crafted from the remains of Ookalf's mother, the Wolf Belt is the source of Ookalf's powers. When he strikes his henshin pose (arms crossed infront of his chest, palms out, fingers curled) and says "Henshin", the belt summons Ookalf's Rider suit, granting him incredible strength and a variety of special abilities. The belt is also largely immune to TFs and will reform to fit whatever shape Ookalf takes.
*Machine Howler: A motorcycle stolen from a grasshopper-like demon, the Machine Howler is capable of speeds up to 645 km/h and is Ookalf's preferred form of transportation.
*Wolmaster Sword: Originally a simple replica of the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda with no real use, Whatever and Ookalf later modified it to give it a few special abilities. When Ookalf says "Beam On", the sword gains the ability to fire lasers from the blade when swung., which will harm enemies, yet harmlessly disperse against walls and trees and such. To return it to its non laser firing state, Ookalf utters "Beam Off". In keeping with the Zelda inspiraton, the laser won't work if Ookalf is too heavily injured. The sword also gives him the Link Howl ability outlined below.
*The Stick(TM): An ordinary wooden stick that Ookalf always keeps in his back pocket. Useful for poking things.
*The Claws and Feet of the Wolf: A set of gauntlets and boots purchased from Dark Lands Imports which Ookalf wears at all times. In addition to further enhancing Ookalf's strength and speed, these useful pieces of equipment allow him to fire a beam of energy that can be used to ensnare enemies. When in Rider form, Ookalf calls this ability the Wolf Trap.
*Gender-Swap Stick: A pink/blue stick from KabaCorp. When Ookalf holds one end, and someone of the opposite gender holds the other, the two will swap sexes.
*Dimension Mirror: Another toy from KabaCorp. When Ookalf looks into this hand-held mirror, he can transport himself, and anyone he chooses to bring with him, into a sub-dimension where he holds god-like power.
Combat Techniques:
*Wolf Rider Kick: Ookalf leaps into the air and dives toward his opponent in a flying kick. Usually causes the target to explode spectacularly.
*Wolf Rider Punch: Punches the enemy with great force, causing them to explode.
*Wolf Rider Slash: The tips Ookalf's gloves sharpen into points as he claws at the target. Usually non-lethal.
*Wolf Fire Punch: Ookalf punches something, which then spontaneously combusts.
*Wolf Break: Used in conjunction with the Howler. When this technique is used, an energy barrier forms around Ookalf and the Howler, allowing them to burst through walls like they were made of cheap cardboard.
*Wolf Impact: Ookalf punches the ground, creating a shockwve that knocks his enemies off their feet.
*Link Howl: Desperation move granted by the Wolmaster Sword. When Ookalf is heavily wounded, he can use this technique to draw the sword into himself and become a vicious half-wolf woman. Activating this form fully heals Ookalf, and gives her further enhanced strength, as well as shrp teeth and claws. Ookalf isn't fully in control while in Howl mode, attacking with a savage fury rarely seen in his proper state. Fighting in this state uses a lot of energy, and Ookalf will usually fall asleep immediately after the fight.
