Okay, time for a massive profile revamp...

Forum Mischa -- the Random Wanderer

Name: Mischa
Gender: Male
Eyes: Blue-Grey
Hair: Dirty Blonde/Brown
Height: 6'0"
Weight: Around 200 lbs...
Classification: Human

A basic visual reference

Description: Plain, ordinary human. He's nothing spectacular in terms of looks or figure, and normally wears fairly casual clothes, typically a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers, with a normal jacket for cooler weather. He also commonly carries a backpack around with him, which (due to its innate properties) allows him to carry a variety of items and equipment

Personality: Mischa doesn't have a particularly notable personality. He's generally quiet and unassuming, willing to give people the benefit of the doubt and approach them in a friendly manner upon first encounter. He's also somewhat shy and insecure, however, which makes her reluctant to impose upon others, or intrude where he feels he's not wanted. While he was exposed to violet for a while, leaving him rather ditzy, he's mostly gotten over that.

He also rather genre savvy, which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage at times. For quite a while, he remained in female form, assuming that if he reverted to male, he'd just inevitably get transformed back into a girl, and decided to avoid the hassle. Eventually, however, he felt it to be something of a lie, and started showing up in his male form. People seem to have largely come to terms with this, fortunately.

History: Mischa is something of a wanderer and a traveller, having inadvertantly travelled to other worlds in the past. His past experiences have contributed to his genre savviness, and are also responsible for the limited degree of fourth wall breakage he can accomplish. He eventually stumbled across MSF, and after wandering for a while as a girl, has finally settled down a bit to be more of his normal self. Of course, this doesn't prevent him from being transformed...

Affiliations:
Family - None present
Associates: Xia (possible owner?), Jasmine (previous employer), Alexis (avid Mischa collector), Konoko (friend)

Abilities: Nothing particularly notable. His backpack does offer a potentially limitless storage space, although he doesn't carry anything too excessive in it, aside from a few weapons and random junk. Perhaps his most unique trait is his ability to violate the fourth wall to a limited degree. This is largely a result of his being an avatar of his creator, and past experiences in worlds where the boundary between the real world and that of fiction was somewhat weakened. This has also had the side effect of "fracturing" his existence, however, and thus has lead to the existence of "multiple Mischas". If a variant Mischa develops sufficient "inertia" in their existence, they can develop into a seperate entity. Fortunately, lately these different Mischas have started adopting their own names and personalities, making it easier to tell them apart.

IRC Mischa -- the Funrubber Funtoy

Name: Mischa
Gender: Usually female
Eyes: Various (default purple)
Hair: Various (default purple)
Height: 6'0"
Weight: Around 40 lbs?
Classification: Funrubber Human

Image

Description: Mischa most often appears as a rather busty and voluptuous woman made of rubber. In what she considers her 'normal' appearance, she has a glossy Caucasian body, rather squishy and squeezable. Her hair is pulled into a ponytail in the back, with bangs hanging down over one eye, but it is in fact one molded piece, and part of her body.

Being made of funrubber, however, she is quite malleable, and has been melted down and reshaped several times. She has been an ordinary inner tube, as well as a rubber ball, as well as taking on different colorations and consistencies even when molded in the shape of a female human.

Personality: Mischa is friendly and outgoing, and has a tendency to consider pretty much everyone she knows a friend. She has a fondness for the cheerful and innocent, however, and often befriends children, as well as individuals like Beyonce who seem to be relatively clueless. This has brought her into conflict with others like Helel, who are hostile towards those she considers friends. This is stressful for her, but she will step in to protect those that she can.

History: Mischa was once an ordinary human... but through various circumstances, ended up turned into rubber. Most notable was when Xia got involved, and converted her into 'funrubber', a particularly squeezable and bouncy form of rubber. Since then, Xia has taken something of a personal claim to Mischa, apparently considering him/her a personal pool toy.

She has tried reverting to her original, male human form... but often ends up converted back into rubber by circumstances beyond her control.

Affiliations:
Family - None present
Associates: Xia (owner), Beyonce (friend), Roara (friend), Helel (friend), Kumi (friend)

Abilities: Being made out of funrubber, Mischa is extremly elastic and pliable, allowing her to be stretched or squeezed without harm. She can even be melted or torn to pieces without suffering pain, although it does hamper her ability to move and such on her own.

The Arsenal

Mischa tends to use a variety of weapons when encountering hazards in MSF, so it's been suggested I should write them down so people at least know what she's got on hand, and what it can do...

The Backpack

Mischa's backpack seems to act as some form of dimensional storage, capable of holding a wide range of items -- even ones that wouldn't normally seem to be able to fit. These include:

Laser Pistol -- Identical to one from the Fallout 3 game, it's relatively low power and only capable of injuring or killing particularly weak opponents. It makes a cool sound when fired, though.

Micromissile Launcher -- A hand-held missile launcher modeled after the Militech Urban Missile Launcher from Cyberpunk 2020. It can actually fire relatively tiny missiles in a fully automatic fashion, with about the same explosive impact as a grenade (but capable of guiding themselves more intelligently).

Fat Man Launcher -- A large, bulky shoulder-fired missile launcher, it actually shoots "mini nuke" rounds. These are powerful explosives capable of massive detonations, producing a distinctive "mushroom cloud" effect afterwards.

Field-Disruption Directed-Energy Remote-Manifest Aiming Unit a.k.a. Hell-Hammer -- Mischa's most potent hand-held weapon, this futuristic device resembles a big, long gun. It projects a group of remote nanomachines at near-light speed, to form a high-energy web assembly around the target, investigate and confuse any anti-disintegration gear, and neutralize any countermeasures. The web then negates the mesonic fields coupling basic particles together, causing the target to disintegrate in a brilliant flash of light as its atoms and molecules become little more than a random set of particles scattering away from each other.

Maximum range is listed as fourteen light-minutes, limiting it to targets within the inner solar system, and its effectiveness drops off sharply if the target mass exceeds around thirty thousand tonnes, so it's not very useful against particularly large targets.

The CTC (The Center for Transformation Control)

Despite their name, the CTC actually functions more as a military organization rather than a research center, although they do have a central research facility, and their ongoing research is actually still their primary focus. However, the public's primary interaction with this organization has largely been through the appearances of their various armed forces, leading most to assume they are, in fact, some kind of military unit.

The CTC's (rarely overtly stated) goal is the study of transformative effects, and the development of countermeasures and defenses against them. To this end, then, they have made an extensive effort to acquire various samples of subjects, both before and after transformations, as well as examining actual methods of transformation when it can be done safely. Most of this research work is actually carried out in heavily secured facilities, but lately the CTC has been willing to expand their horizons and work with other individuals. One notable example is the efforts they made to assist Julia Kovacs with her own work in treating the victims of color energies. CTC troops have also often been encountered investigating some of Muffinville's abandoned Brotherhood facilities and other sites that may contain useful information regarding transformation effects.

On the other hand, they have also acted overtly to try and suppress dangerous elements, particularly those that can induce transformations. The most significant one to date was the bombardment of Muffinville with orbital and nanotech weapons, in an effort to stop a spreading wave of zombies, believed to be induced by the mysterious DrakeCorp. While their efforts had a certain effect, it also caused a fair amount of collateral damage, which left some onlookers questioning how effective the CTC actually were. While the CTC cares little for what others may think of their troops, the PR problem was something of an issue, and they've been looking to try and make more measured responses in the future, working more closely with the local 'hero' elements that may be involved in such a situation.

Physical Assets

The CTC possesses a rather indefinite range of assets. They've been spending quite a lot of time and effort moving in forces and facilities covertly. Originally they installed a series of robot sites, including missile launch facilities that were used to counterattack Smash Daisaku at one point. These have since been expanded into manned bases.

So far, the only really known CTC facility is the CTC Involuntary Transformation Clinic and Research Center. While a fairly pleasant and small treatment clinic on the surface, it's believed to house a much larger underground facility underneath, where most of their research into transformations is now being conducted.

Armed Forces

In a world as violent and chaotic as Muffinville, it was inevitable that the CTC would feel the need for an armed contingent to protect themselves. For the most part, the CTC field a fairly conventional near-future army. Troops are provided with full-body armor with environmental protection, to provide at least some defense against transformation effects that work via gases or skin exposure. This armor also provides integral communcations and sensor support, so that CTC soldiers can see in the dark, as well as be in constant contact. Armament for CTC troops varies, although most are armed with a multirole electrolaser, that uses a low-powered laser to provide an ionized track for an electrical discharge. By varying the output of this discharge, the weapon can be used to either stun living beings like a taser, or deliver a powerful electrical attack. Other weapons have included grenade launchers and ballistic weapons, which can be switched between lethal and non-lethal ammunition as needed.

The CTC also possess a variety of armed vehicles, typically fielding armored Infantry Fighting Vehicles as support for the infantry. They have also deployed tilt-rotor aircraft called vertols, which bear a certain resemblance to the Vertibirds of Fallout 3. It's likely that the CTC has access to heavier armored vehicles, but so far none have been deployed in the Muffinville area.

Other Resources

Beyond their conventional troops, the CTC has access to other independent weapon systems that were formerly believed to be used by Mischa himself:

Nanoswarms -- Occasionally deployed in areas where combat is expected, the nanoswarms originally appear as silvery spheres. Upon command, they can disperse into a thin mist that's only faintly visible as a shimmer in the air. In this form, they act as a large-aperature sensor device, capable of detecting most energy fields (including color energy) and transmitting this information elsewhere.

Experimental Infiltration Units (XIU) -- The XIU series is a set of advanced combat robots. Built in a humanoid shape, they were modelled after the adaptive capabilities of the robot known as XAC-13, although they only possessed a fraction of its power. They typically arrive via high-altitude drop, relying on built-in booster rockets to brake their landing. They also possess chameleon camouflage systems, rendering them invisible to visual and thermal detection. Armament varies, but usually consists of various high-tech weapons.

ANGEL -- An orbital weapons platform, the ANGEL is named for its Advanced Nuclear-Generated Electron Laser. Containing a fusion reactor and a suitably supply of fuel, it's capable of delivering extremely potent laser strikes against planetary targets. The beam itself is confined to a diameter of no more than few meters, making it a relatively pinpoint weapon. It possesses an advanced sensor suite, capable of targeting man-sized or smaller targets, and detecting them through cloud cover or other obscurements. It also possesses a variety of point defenses, including lasers and railguns.

Drumfire -- An arsenal ship, is was deployed it against the Brotherhood in Muffinville. Its primary armament is a set of vertical-cell missile launchers the launch multi-role surface-to-surface missiles. Additional defenses include Phalanx and laser turrets acting as point defense. Since the defeat of the Brotherhood and the Beige Star, it has since vanished, but it is likely it could reappear if needed.

COWARDS -- short for Collapse of Observed Waveform Absolute Reality Defense System, this is a relatively compact device capable of stabilizing reality for a defined volume of space-time around itself. It apparently works by some form of quantum computer, that acts as an external 'observer', and constantly collapses the observed waveform into a preprogrammed state. While a certain leeway is designed into the system, so that the affected region doesn't become locked into stasis, it does prevent most methods of manipulating matter and energy in that volume, particularly via magic, color energy, and the like. Because of the relative expensive and difficulty involved in making COWARDS generators, they're typically deployed only when circumstances demand it, and usually to defend fixed positions. They have periodically been integrated into robotic and armored units, however, to provide them additional protection.

SIBLINGs -- Not much is known about these mysterious schoolgirls as of yet. They've shown up occasionally in support of CTC forces, usually against opponents that have proven to be too powerful for conventional tactics. They are divided up into several variant "series": The E-series can manipulate electromagnetism, the T-series can teleport matter, the P-series has psychic and precognitive abilities, and the V-series can manipulate the vectors of energy fields they come into contact with (making them practically invulnerable to attacks). They also possess a Synthetic Imagine Breaker, which can allow them to disrupt virtually any form of metanatural ability, but requires physical contact.

Known Individuals

An organization as large as the CTC has innumerable people working for it, but a few have started to shown up regularly, at least enough to have recognizable names...

Eleanor -- Appearing at Julia's warehouse, she worked with her in an effort to learn more about color energies and transformative effects. Apparently a relatively high-ranked researcher.

Commander Katherine Pleasance -- The acting field commander of the anti-zombie operation, she's apparently around middle rank in the CTC hierarchy -- enough to be in a field command, but not enough to have a fixed command position. Apparently, she was considered to have performed well enough against the zombies to be assigned other field commands, and her increasing familiarity with the inhabitants of Muffinville might mean she'll show up regularly leading CTC troops.

Utsuko, the Energetic Thermonuclear Reporter Girl

Image

Name: Utsuko
Gender: Female
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Height: 5'10"
Weight: Around 150 lbs...
Classification: Youkai

Description: Utsuko appears to be relatively humanoid, with long, black hair and deep brown eyes. She normally wears a white blouse and a green skirt, with a green ribbon tied in her hair. Because of her youkai nature, she's relatively immune to temperature differences, meaning she can wear such clothes even in winter. She also typically wears a white cloak with a dark starfield pattern on the inner surface, which normally covers her crow-like wings. At times, she'll also have a hexagonal rod mounted over her right arm.

Personality: Typically energetic, if somewhat ditzy. She normally is cheerful and inquisitive, and often wanders about at random looking for newsworthy events to report on. Her cluelessness means that sometimes her impulsiveness can get the better of her, though, and at times she jumps to erroneous conclusions.

History: Utsuko is largely a product of Mischa's experimentations with some of the outfits that he bought from Circe's store. Owning a copy of Utsuho Reiuji's outfit from the Touhou games, at some point he adopted the form and abilities it provided on a permanent basis. Renaming herself Utsuko, this new identity also took over Mischa's newspaper efforts.

Affiliations:
Family - None present
Associates: None so far, aside from those that provide her newspaper with some support (such as Ambush Cat)

Abilities: As a Touhou-style youkai, Utsuko has a number of abilities. Defensively, she is quite durable, taking a lot of damage to actually put down. Her body is sturdy enough that most damage will leave only cosmetic effects, although eventually if she's worn down enough she'll collapse. She can also fly innately, although normally she has to have her wings unfolded in order to do so. Offensively, she is most notable for being able to control nuclear fusion. The 'control rod' mounted on her right arm permits this, and most of the time is wielded as a gun, firing balls or beams of concentrated hot plasma. She can also generate balls and darts of plasma by concentrating or gesturing, however, so she's not completely reliant on the control rod. She also has access to 'spell cards', which can generate powerful effects. One example seen to date was the "Explosion Sign" spell card "Uncontainable Nuclear Reaction", which generated a massive nuclear blast centered on Utsuko, devastating an open field and leaving a giant crater in its wake. Utsuko collapsed after using it, however, suggesting that her control of her abilities is not yet perfect, and they can drain a lot of her energy.

Drawing upon the skillset of Aya Shameimaru (who Utsuko also resembles, and drew a lot of her newspaper inspiration from), she can manage wind to a mild degree, as well as move extremely fast if need be, but she rarely uses these abilities.

Tenko, Goddess of Heaven and Earth

Image

Name: Tenko
Gender: Female
Eyes: Red
Hair: Blue
Height: 6'0"
Weight: Around 160 lbs...
Classification: Goddess

Description: Tenko appears as a woman, perhaps in her 30s, giving her a somewhat more adult look than most. She has short blue hair, and typically wears a brightly colored blouse and skirt.

Personality: Lazy, selfish, greedy, and tempermental. She's come to take many things about being a deity for granted -- for example, the devotion and obedience of worshippers -- while being rather lax about any responsibilities. As such, she's prone to just lazing about her shrine, waiting for offerings to be brought to her -- or, if offerings seems scarce, heading out to harass her followers into providing her with snacks, sake, or other things. On the other hand, she has shown a soft spot for children, and can take any threats to her followers rather seriously.

History: Tenko appeared one day atop a mountain, that appeared just as suddenly outside of Muffinville. Those investigating the shrine atop the mountain found Tenko there, waiting for offerings. She was able to gather her first batch of followers there (most by assuming anyone giving her an offering was a follower), but was attacked by a group of androids from Black Isles who came to investigate. After a brief skirmish, she visited the Black Isles depot they originated from, and took ownership of the androids, converting two of them into miko to serve her and maintain her shrine.

Affiliations:
Family - None present
Miko: Okinu, Juuryoku
Followers: Hoshiko, Dactylos

Abilities: As a goddess, it's difficult to define exactly what her powers are. She has claimed dominion over both heaven and earth, and has expressed that power by being able to manipulate both stone and the weather.

She was able to create a mountain overnight with minimal tectonic disturbance, and during her duel with one of the Black Isles androids was able to manipulate the earth to attack her opponent with stones, or open up wide crevices in the earth -- and close them just as quickly. She was also able to produce 'keystones' from the earth -- divinely infused rocks that are as hard as diamond, and thus resistant to nearly any attack. The keystones can also produce beams of laser-like energy.

Her attunement to the heavens also permits her to fly, and she can summon up even massive storms seemingly at a whim, directing lightning to strike targets upon demand. She can also summon forth 'faith pillars' -- tall columns of wood or stone, bound by twisted ropes. These can affix themselves to her back, and produce beams of holy energy upon demand.

Combining her command over both earth and winds allowed her to create a powerful swirling tempest, filled with razor-sharp stone -- an attack that would be devastating to most unprepared enemies.

Another unique ability she possesses is the Hitei no Naginata -- a divine weapon that she can summon at any time. It appears to be a relatively normal naginata, but produces an unearthly sheen. Translated, the title means "Naginata of Negation", and references the Hitei's most notable power -- its ability to negate or nullify qualities of anything it comes into contact with. This allows it to be used defensively, as it can parry attacks by nullifying their energy or strength. It also makes it an extremely potent weapon offensively, as it can negate any defensive abilities the target possesses, making it practically unstoppable. Note that this is a true divine weapon, and is thus practically indestructible.

Finally, as a goddess, Tenko is in truth a divine, spiritual essence. Her physical appearance is little more than an avatar created for convenience, and to experience the myriad pleasures a corporeal form permits -- primarily drinking. Even this avatar is unnaturally strong and durable, but massively powerful attacks will be capable of destroying it. However, unless they are also equally powerful against a spiritual essence, Tenko will simply be able to recreate her avatar as desired. This also makes her highly resistant to transformative effects, since she can reconstruct her avatar as desired. A spiritual seal could potentially restrict this ability, but since her avatar functions more as an extension of her spirit than a container, it's likely it would just isolate the avatar from the rest of her essence... which would be free to construct a new avatar.
