History: Young Ameph was found orphaned on the streets with only a note by missing government scientist, Dr. Hiroshi Mako. Dr. Mako went missing shortly after officials discovered illegal activities going on in his personal lab revolving around human psychology, human genealogy and advanced human natures. Evading arrest, Dr. Mako vanished to an unknown location after nearly all of his work was destroyed. His son was left and was sent to live with a foster family.

Ameph did not grow up well. He quickly resented his foster families and was on a constant quest of getting into trouble. It first started out as lying and then quickly escalated to stealing and cheating. Worse, he appeared to have an advanced idea at a young age so he quickly became a talented thief. When caught, the blame eventually came down to the foster parents. In due time, the parents quickly got rid of him for more parents. Yet, as he was disciplined, he continued his work through the teens.

It was then that Ameph was set up with a man named Gene Storm, a man who went under the occupation of 'Story Teller'. Unlike the last parents, Gene was fairly mild and did not scold Ameph for his ways. Instead, he would often go off on a story on something completely unrelated. While living with this man, Ameph heard many stories ranging from Norse Mythology, Japanese Folklore, European Legend and a lot of American Lying. Ameph's favorite one was the story of Robin Hood.

In addition to Gene, Ameph was also paired up with Gene's daughter, Reena Storm, who was his age. A good friend but nothing serious, Reena kept a constant eye on Ameph to make sure he stayed out of trouble. He eventually slowed down but there were some times where Reena was certain that Ameph could vanish in the dark.

It wasn't until Ameph was 18 when a major change came to his life. During a summer night, the Storm household was suddenly under heavy government watch for an unexplained reason. Gene and Reena were guarded but the house was turned inside out to find the missing Ameph who had escaped to see what was all the commotion. There, he met a strange man who appeared to be too happy to see Ameph. Before Ameph could react to the strange man, he was suddenly sprayed with gas.

Ameph then woke up, not feeling himself, back in the Storm household where he was quickly interrogated. To his horror, Ameph realized that he was no longer himself but a rather cute black haired girl in Ameph's clothes. After some explanation, it was revealed that Dr. Mako, Ameph's long lost missing father, was not too far and had returned to experimentation on his own son. The experiment was apparently a success as Ameph had been turned into a girl.

Ameph then went under the name of Ami as modern science could simply not return the former boy to his old self. Even worse, Ami found out that being a local thief was no longer probable as she was found constantly. Life as a girl was hard for her but she had Reena to help her out. Gene, however, was not too much help and insisted that Ami wore short pretty skirts which she refused.

It was a year later that Ami found out that her change wasn't as permanent as she thought. With enough mental concentration, she was able to revert back to Ameph for a few moments before returning back to his female self. For those few moments, he was able to return to his master thief ways but when he reverted, his thief prowess seemed to vanish.

Since then, Ameph has lived as Ami and has put her college plans on hold. She works at a local costume shop as a clerk and often portrayed as a male character. However, some days, the manager requires her to dress up in something that fit better. Questions still remain.

It has been a few years since Ami had been made by the rogue Dr. Hiroshi Mako. Ami has moved into an apartment and has made frequent daily trips to hang out with a group of people at the local MSF Center in Muffinville (IRC Chat) where she has made friends with the locals there. She has been subject to a few girly forms and fights but her life soon changed when she got her hands on the Dark Magic Staff which was the staff used by the Dark Magician Girl. Shortly after grabbing it, she was transformed into Mana, the Dark Magician Girl. This wasn't like the other transformations as it seemed to be too natural, really. It continued in an eerie way that some visitors called her Mana when she said her name was Ami Mako.

After awhile, Ami began to get used to being called Mana and accepted it, being the mage of MSF until she botched a succubus summoning, turning herself into one. Her newfound power diminished but she still went on a demonic rampage until she was put into the body of a robot named AMI which was made by CWTech. AMI was designed from KOS-MOS V4's design and was a combat robot herself. Eventually, the body was damaged and Ami's spirit was put into a KOS-MOS replica.

Ami stayed as a robot for awhile before she was taken out and put into perfect copy of her old body. She technically was still the Dark Magician Girl but had retained her normal looks. It was then at that time that she was visited by her father, Hiroshi Mako...

Hiroshi kidnapped Ami and held her captive while experimenting on her. It appears that Project Darkside was NOT the project that Ami was made for but rather a clone of Ami. Ami was a clone herself. When people previously called her Mana, they were not kidding. Dr. Hiroshi Mako was attempting to make a clone of the Dark Magician Girl and his result was Ameph due to botching his procedure. He had to escape from government officials who bust in during the time that Ameph was an infant. It took him almost 18 years to locate Ameph and inject him with a formula that would turn him into a more perfect clone. Almost conveniently, it turns out that Ami is not only a clone of Mana but also has her soul. Ami Mako is the reincarnation of the Dark Magician Girl. She was saved by Kumi-Chan from Hiroshi who claims that his research was 'complete'.

She has underwent a few more transformations ranging from cheerleader, ballerina and one visit as KOS-MOS before she was suddenly shrunk into age 8. She was then adopted by Kumi-chan and has lived pretty happily as her daughter.

Ami currently has an Emulator Staff similar to that of Card Captor Sakura's and is in the process of obtaining 52 Cards. Oddly, they are different...are they connected to the real cards?
