I am light headed so I am sorry. This happened to pop in and made it worse so now I ask you.

Thier is a difference in taste and what the muscle is used for. White meat is like the chicken breast a "slow twitch" muscle. Where as dark meat is like the leg a "fast twitch" muscle.

Dark meat. It's juicier, fattier, and contains the largest amount of a certain chemical found in turkey which induces pleasant drowsiness (Tryptophan?)

I believe you are right but I am not sure of the spelling. It works better in conjunction with potatoes I LIKE ME SOME TURKEY LEG. I eat it like a English king in movies.

POO GASSSSSS~! *Air guitars* XD

I'm not much of a chicken or turkey fan. I prefer fruits, veggies and dairy products. :O

Quite frankly, I don't have as refined taste as applied to turkey. I generally consume any peice of turkey meat that finds it's way to my plate.

I like some of each. Chewing on a big turkey leg makes me feel all medieval, but I don't ignore the white side of the turkey just because of that.... Guess I'm just carniverous, huh?

When it comes to those rare times i get turkey meat i prefer white mean, just like the fowl i get much more often, chicken. In general the dark meat is just nasty, greasy and leaves an unpleasant feeling in the mouth. I am not very fond of turkey though, it tastes a lot like chicken, which makes sense given that they are pretty closely related, but has less flavour and is just in general dull...i never understood how it managed to be the traditional meat for two whole holidays, it really needs to be cut into small bits and then be heavily seasoned to avoid being dull. And i have tried eating ordinary stuffed turkey, so i know how it taste. I get it pretty much every year on the 26th of december when all members of my mother's family is forced to attend a family event where my aunt who pretty much never eat meat except for turkey gets to decide some of the food.
