Agreed. I can read it, and it took me a while, but I really don't want to take the time to respond in leet. I went through a "leet phase" a few years back. Yuck.

...but in all serious-osity, I like to mess with words as much as the next guy, but it just seems...how to say...useless to me. Don't let me stop you from having your fun, but I dislike most forms of abbreviating language. Not to mention that I hate numbers to begin with.

They use it because a long time ago, the 31337 port(eleet:P) was one of the ports that hackers came through to scramble your system with a small program...
Thus, 31337 was a way hackers could communicate with eachother without being caught by the law, like a password.
Nowadays, since The port is now closed by default(or gone...I can't remember) most people just use it because they are posers:P.
Perhaps there wouldn't be a controversy if everyone had a hint of skill in coding(I have little to none, myself), And I don't exactly like to use 'leetspeak' myself, because, in the time it takes to type the thing you want to say, the enemy has stolen your flag twice, and you've been 'fragged' several times.(Type killers, spawn killers, courtesy of your freindly neighborhood Messenger of Flame, on UT:P)
