My vote goes to a mixture of technology and magic; the cast of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha get my vote for their high-tech weapons, awesome magical arsenals, and most importantly, their incredible skills with using both of them.

I went ahead and chose Zelgadis, due to me favoring balanced characters.

In regards to villains, I feel the same way, balance is key, but they need to be on a different scale of 'power' and hubris to go with it, as their ultimate weakness.

You know what, as long as someone is talking about Magical Girls, I can't help but change my vote to Firefox, the only Magical Girl worth actually reading about. Her tail can light anything on fire, when not hidden! She can grow to twice the size of the Earth, using her tail to incinerate oncoming Death Stars! She can even change skins at will, and comes complete with tabbed browsing! Truly a superhero to be feared and admired...

The problem with voting for Zelgadis--much as I like the guy--is that the cast in general doesn't follow his style of combat. The cast of MGLN, MGLN A's, and MGLN StrikerS run the gamut of combat styles; Teana Lanstar is a gunslinger, Subaru Nakajima is a martial artist, Signum and Vita focus almost entirely on melee, Caro ru Lushe is a Dragon Summoner, and Nanoha and Hayate are walking artillery batteries.

Nanoha herself doesn't have anything in the way of melee attacks; she blasts from a distance, then evades when her target gets too close, like a strategically-intelligent Sailor Moon. The only one who matches Zelgadis' combat style is Fate Testarossa, and even she has a melee preference and some crazy speed to go with it.

Thus, I vote for other; specifically, Technomancers. Half Sailor Moon, half Iron Man.

And for the record, Hayate could roast Firefox with a single Hraelsvelgr.

Then your Nanoha actually sounds more like the Black Mage option. And the key traits for the Zelgadis option are balanced abilities and no real weaknesses.
I'm just trying to get useful answers, here. There's really no point to this poll if everybody chooses "other".

Wolverine beats all them sheerly because EVERYTHING he does just looks kick@$$...sure magnets don't like him...but he's the constant trump card of the X-men. He leaves, they say "we can do it without him", they get their crap kicked, and wolverine comes in a beats the living hell out of whatever is the bad guy...again...unless it's Magneto.
