I know that they were popularly-known risks, which is why I said "other than."

As for estrogen helping the body accept the organs, it's very unlikely. It's not that chemical's job to make the contents of the body accept itself. It has other effects on the body's cells, the cells that have thingies to accept that hormone in particular.

And the organs would be a problem. Not only that, but the pelvis (and related bones in the area) of the male itself. The female's pelvis is shaped differently so the body can deliver offspring more efficiently. The male's pelvis will probably be the biggest problem when it comes to female reproductive organ transplants. Otherwise, making room may not be that hard, but still make a considerable chore since male organs are bigger and thus take up room, room constricted by the musculatory system. So, they'd have to work with the muscles to allow more room without causing hernias and other muscle damage, among other things.

But don't take my word for it. I'm not even sure what field of science specializes in this stuff. XD

Of the options I choose none, for I am above the physical limitations. In all honesty, I would prefer the option of shapeshifting to either gender you wish at any time. Asexuality has its usefulness, but is still too limited for my personal tastes. Nevermind the assumption that an asexual could not regulate the birthing cycles, there are enough of us humans as it is without more coming along as part of a regular schedule.

Well, I didn't have shapeshifting since I was focusing on asexuality, a static condition. If I had put shapeshifting in there, the rest of the options on the poll would pretty much be redundant. I aim to make people use some effort in their choice, rather than have something everyone will jump on as soon as they see it, whether if it's popular or a cop out. Well, if the poll isn't silly, anyway (and I'm looking for real opinions).

As for asexuals and birth cycles, not all existing asexual creatures give birth on a schedule. There are some that do need a certain stimulus (from itself or an outside source) before the process can be underway. So it's not so black & black. ;p And even if that weren't true in reality, it is possible, scientifically.

True, upon reviewing my old texts I would say you are right about the reproduction. Darn photo memory, I actually have to spend time accessing it to reread old books.

Yeah, i should explain the steps Stellar. In order to be accepted by the legally enforced standards of care you have to start out by living as the gender you want to be full-time for a year without any kind of aid from the professionals. You have to figure everything out yourself. At this point it is worth noting that everything includes adapting voice, handling how to have a name that is legally enforced to be the gender you are leaving and making sure you have no facial hair. Then after a year you get the right to be assessed at the one authorized department in the country. After that you have to go at least another year, monitored this time but otherwise unaided. Then when they judge you ready you get assessed again and might get cleared for hormones. After that you go at least a year more where you are monitored before being allowed to get assessed for clearance for SRS. Then after SRS you get the right to electrolysis, voice therapy and to change your legal name and gender. So i will have to live as the bearded lady for at least two years without clearance for hormones to soften the impact of it. I might be able to get electrolysis that i pay for, however given the fact that it cost around 100 euro per 30 minute session meant to remove twenty hairs it is so far out of my price range that it isn't even fun to joke about. I am working on my voice at least.

That's just evil, the rigors of undergoing such treatment for your change. *Shakes head* I could go on a long rant about it... But I have managed to quell what wishes to come out. XD;;

Jeez.. That's unortodoxed. Why do they clear you for SRS before anything else? Do you get a great discount on electrolosys and voice therapy doing it through your system?

Wow... And I thought getting set back at my old clinic was bad... I guess once I redo the process I wont gripe about it. ..Wich reminds me, while I'm on the internet I should look up TG clinics here in California.

Getting a discount? The only way to get voice therapy is through the system and not only is electrolysis way beyond my price range if i have to pay, i am not even sure it is offered to people who are physically male. I don't have much choice in regards to working through the system it being the legally enforced only way to be recognized by the govenrment. In fact i think that if a psychiatrist worked outside it he would get his license to practice revoked.

As for whether it is unorthodox and not i think that it is based on the legislation not having been changed since the early 80's. It being based on a classic psychiatric establishment labeling being transsexual as a mental disorder has probably not helped either. There seems to be much of an attitude of wanting to prevent people from going through with it unless they are pretty damn fanatic about it. Wanting to save money on electrolysis and voice therapy until the last possible moment hoping that it won't be necessary anyway.

The part about not being able to change name and gender is a piece of rather anal EU legislation about the complete verification of passports and the demand that name and gender fits that follows this. I never really understood the point, and especially not why decide that the aesthetics of the genitalia is what matters and not how a person actually appears and functions socially.

Sorry to hear about all the hassle you are having to put up with Terra. Sounds rather odd for the government to try to prevent such things in my opinion, well unless we were talking about somewhere with a very low male population to begin with.

Makes perfect sense. They are basically bigoted like most of the rest of the population. In Denmark there is a strong ideology of everybody being alike and that does lead to a rather great amount of social stigma against people who are different. So far it has primarily hit foreigners but it also accounts to people who deviates in all other ways, even speaking a local dialect will yield contempt. Besides that they seem to believe that it is something dangerous that people can't make an educated choice about themselves, and of course there is the whole issue of financing it.

For sec sec I thought you were talking about people who were asexual as in they dislike the thought of haveing sex, and sex sounds rather unpleasent to them and ect.

As for the subject about what if people started reproducing asexualy, like worms were there's only one gender, and your off spring can be made by both pregnateing your self or getting new genetic coad from another organisem? Sounds kinda like this made up race I was reading off someone's web site once.
=)

More or less they were tree/plant people who looked like some parts were made of plants some noe. you whould need to see the picher to understand the exact look more or less. Bassicly they infected people to reproduce, they infected both men and women, they had a female form, and were asexual. But even thow they chould reproduce amoung them selfs they don't for the off spring don't uesly turn out well, and look fuction better if they were to just infect someone any way.

Gross subject..

I've studied life long enough (in my short-lived life)
to know that what's on the outside doesn't matter,it's whats on the inside.

But it doesn't hurt to make the outside reflect the inside. ;p Well, I guess so, anyway. <.<; (Someone say guts? w00t!)

As for having sex and stuff, the asexual human (or even human-like being) that I'm talking about can enjoy pretty much everything that sexual humans can. In the end, it's all in the mind, as to what is pleasurable and painful. Or else we wouldn't have sadists and masochists, ne? We all find our own things to enjoy, and it would be the same in the case of the asexual person.

Personally, I'd favor doing other things than have sex, but that's just me. I'm more interested in other activities.
