Honestly speaking, there's only one sure fire way to destroy anime, and even then, the odds are better that our planet would be visited by aliens first before it happens.

Short of trying to get the government to ban the import/export of anime (not going to happen as it will most likely end up throwing economy into an unstable balance world over), is to convince all the anime fans out there that what they're watching is evil. That it is wrong. That is needs to be destroyed. IE: You need to do what is virtually impossible and get thousands among thousands of people to agree on one thing.

No matter how you try to do it, its going to fail in the end. People already tried to do things like you have, and people will continue to try with each of the next big entertainment thing. Not saying you shouldn't stop, just that the odds of your success are very, very small.

Quite possibly because this is a site devoted to magical transformations in anime? I could be wrong, but I think there are quite a few people who watch anime here.

Just a guess mind you

And for my two cents, anime will only cease to be when people stop doing animated telivision/movies. I mean, all anime is is Japanese animated telivision. What makes it so popular is the the fact it is so different than what we have (due to different cultures).

I can imagine that not working for a variety of reasons, but making the world-wide economy unbalanced is really not one of them.

Sorry, guys, but Anime will only truly die when humanity ends.

If you think about it, legends from billions of years ago in the form of Dinosaurs still exist today. Stories will be passed down, hand-me-down manga given to a child for entertainment. So, if you think about it, despite maybe not being as popular as it is today, Anime will still exist until every person or descendant of a person that had anything to do with anime ever is gone, which is basically the end of time, as our descendants are multiplying and joining with other families every day.

I'd say that depends on how humanity ends. If it's a sudden phenomena (like a radiation burst that incinerates the planet or the sun nova's and egulfs the earth), yeah, most definately, you and everyone else who suggested that is exactly right. If it's a particularly proloneged disaster, than I think I'd put the time cap at a few years from the end, when survival isn't assured and people have more important things to spend their time on.

That's true, but There's one problem with that. It doesn't have to be popular to live on. It just has to exist.

from the union~?! :o

something I forgot about.

Anime is a medium, ie animated pictures as it were. For it to go away, you'd have to get rid of cartoons as well.

Anime will always exist because it derives from art. The meme of anime style has been infected in millions of young people in the US, Korea and other countries do that even if professional works were never made there would always be the sense of that artistic style in some form in the world, morphing and growing like a mutating organism.

Nobody is trying to lower your self-esteem.
However, it is a foolhardy maneuver to come to a site that is based on what you hate, and start spouting your insensitive bullsh*t.

You have trampled many peoples' patience, as patient as they are, and you've begun to whittle at my last nerve, too.
If anything, YOU are persecuting US.

LOL.

You know "animeh8r" maybe the question you should be asking is, "Why do you guys like Anime". People are going to defend the things they like. So I'm sorry for your ego but you can't always make people hate what they like.

Also I don't hate you for what you think. Up to this point you haven't shown anything (to me that is) that makes you a bad guy. ^_^

animeh8er:

One piece of advice: don't open up a can of worms unless you intend to share it. Otherwise you're going to draw the kind of attention to you that you otherwise (seemingly) don't want. Also: in a discussion, it's not fair to express your dislike for anime and expect everyone else to reserve their own opinion against it, if they have such an opinion. Think before you post, particularly about what you're posting about as well as where you're posting it.

In general:

Let's not dissolve, please. Acting in response to irrational behavior won't do anyone any good. Fighting over opinions is silly.
