I don't think either of those are really important, when you get right down to it. With the way that things work, most people don't have a choice in what they'll perceive as important; so, what's important about that? Sure, I'd like to do something with my life, and I also wouldn't mind having some friends and family, but I'd rather like to know that I can think and reason for myself. It just seems more "rewarding" to me, on a bigger scale.
