PLEASE tell me you're not serious.
If i was kidding you'd be able to tell =p
Oi... Okay. Prepare for some hardcore readin'.
You're Frank West, freelance photojournalist in fictional Willamette, Colorado. You've decided to go after the "biggest scoop of all time". Turns out it's a zombie infestation. In short, your stuck in a mall infested with zombies no matter where you go short of the roof and safe-room, but you can use literally ANYTHING that's not nailed down: Guitars, katanas, hedge clippers, hunting knives, purses, shotguns, snipers, pistols, SMG/Uzi, chairs, tables, benches, severed arms, buckets, masks, battle axes, potted plants, cash registers, CDs, canned lemons... anything you might find in a mall is at your disposal, and then some.
There are 3 modes you can do, but only 1 if it's brand new: 3 Day mode. This is also story mode, where Frank has to uncover the mysteries behind the infestation and take out the person/people responsible by completing missions called "scoops" in 3 days. There are multiple endings depending on what you do. You miss one scoop, you can't get the true ending, and your screwed unless you start over. If you get the True Ending, you get Overtime mode, which is just an extra day after 3 Day mode. New boss, more zombies, that's it.
Finally, after you beat Overtime mode, you get Perpetual mode, aka Free-play, Sandbox mode, Endless mode, whatever. This is just how long you can last without dying. You don't get as much food, you die if you don't eat anything, and EVERYONE is hostile, even the survivors. (In Story mode, you have to rescue survivors to get True Ending.)
Basic modern-day survival horror courtesy of Capcom, who also brought you Resident Evil, so no one really knows why they made DR. It's fun just to mindlessly slaughter zombies, though, which you can do in Story mode, if you want.
It's RPG, so you can level up automatically up to level 50, where you're practically unstoppable: You get more life, more inventory space, weapons last longer, you get more moves so you won't need weapons as much, and you can laugh in the damn zombie's faces as they lay motionless on the floor in a pool of blood. You level up by killing zombies, killing bosses called "Psychopaths", and taking pictures. Hey, he's a photojournalist. PP is your new best friend in this game, Prestige Points.
Oh, and it's incredibly violent. Hence "severed arms" in the weapons list above.
And THAT'S the short version.
You can ask Lucky as well, s/he'll tell you basically the same thing.
2 Astraea: Neither do I, but I still think it's fun as hell.
