Elemental weakness skills.

I've played a lot of different games, and, especially in a series (where the formula is usually similar), I usually know what to expect. I've got enough experience to help me get it right most of the time so I don't waste any turns or time analyzing or whatever. There are only a few exceptions that I've come across, such as games where the creature's elemental weakness is randomly chosen in each encounter, or, like in a lot of Nippon Ichi games, the degree of all elemental resistance usually varies among all enemies.

I tend to be more into just bashing the enemy's skull in then exploiting an elemental weakness, but I usually have a fairly good idea of what that weakness is.

My brother usus fire on red dragons... -.- When I told him to use Ice and water everything worked out, so on this level everything is really easy. Who would not instinctly use light againt a monster called "Shadow"? Or against demons from the hell?
The only time I nearly cired was when there was a monster I could only kill by healing it to death, that was unexpected. It was like an avatar of fear of other people who are always reborn. One of my thoughts was to kill them all, but since I try to be good to the innocent I just tried and tried...

Eh, I guess I'm alright. Not a total expert, but don't tell me right off, either.

Trial and error, really.
