Well? I suppose this boils down to experiences you've had before, and maybe some common sense, but...hey, poll :O

What do you call it when you're always skeptical, due in part to paranoia, but you end up letting most things happen because of a mix of apathy, weak will, and hoping for the best? O.o;

Very =) I don't talk much, but when people ask questions I answer truethfully. There's no secrets in my life anyway, and there's nothing about me that people can attempt to put me down with.

The first point of the scout law states "A scout is trustworthy" and even if the great many of people I deal with aren't in scouts, I do give people the benefit of the doubt when I first meet them to allow trust to be built.

That doesn't stop me from being skeptical of certain people, but there are some instances when said people have become very good friends of mine.

Trust is spontaneous, in my book.

Until I know the person, I've got my hand in my gun pocket. Not that I'm liable to shoot anyone. Especially when I don't really have a gun. It's a metaphor.

I'm probably more gullible than I'd like to admit, but I consider myself about average when it comes to my trust. But, like they say, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. I'll generally take someone at their word for most things, however, if what they say or promise is totally far-fetched than I'll probably be a bit skeptical. Of course, if someone shows that their full of BS time and time again, it'll obviously make them harder to trust.

Well, when it comes to official 'sources' then I want to see research piled upon research to back it up. Anything I see on the news or read in the paper, I'm disinclined to trust. Or read in textbooks, or what have you >_>

When it comes to people I know, well, I'm a bit more trusting. I'll generally take what they say at face value, though there are a few people whose stories I wouldn't buy to save my life.

everyone is human and thus we all want what is best for us so we tend to lean to a nasty skeptic riddled side...urgh, late night, and typing is hard when you are going on 3 hours of sleep and an energy drink

Since there was no "above average" option I went with "Very." Though I keep my eyes open I do try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

I always make sure that if anyone tells me anything that they have some evidence to back them up. I used to trust people a while back but then people started taking advantage of it and my social condition got somehow worse than it was before, so yeah.....

How trusting am I?

Only those who know I trust them know the answer to that

Second to last option for me, though its not entirely true. As I was forced to tell someone in high school long ago, I trust no one, not even myself.
