You know you want to. Well, it'd help, anyway: since the best places for this post either don't get a lot of traffic, or only RP topics can be made in them. So, I made a poll, taking into account the lazy bums that can't find the time to post a word or two in General discussion. I'm so considerate. Anyway...

The universe I have in mind will be based on the Fire Emblem series (of video games), and translates the basic mechanics into a tabletop form of roleplaying. Instead of dice it will remain true to how the games generally operate, by using an RNG (Random Number Generator) system. I doubt anyone recalls, since no one found any interest in it, but I once shared something that can do just that. Beyond that, it won't be completely rigid, to the point where you can't make up your own classes, weapons, or flex your stats.

There's no need to feel intimidated, if you're interested but think tabletops are complicated. It's nothing like the ones you may be thinking about. There are only a few basic and easy rules to follow, and a character sheet. Perhaps the only hard part is in making a gridded map, and keeping track of position. And, of course, the GM will love putting together statistics for enemies. ;p

Now it's time to vote. This way I'll know whether to bother requesting for a new universe or not. Questions are welcome, and you can always change your vote.

I'd be interested.

A few weeks back I was thinking about writing a dinky little FE clone in C++ using ASCII graphics, with the player controlling a group of magical girls and the storyline centering around them.

I decided it wasn't worth the effort, and that I would never complete it so why bother starting. I also decided if I was going to do it, I should use sprite graphics instead, but I don't like stealing art and I didn't feel like making my own.

I thought about floating the idea over here and asking for help, but from experience team projects are hell, it would be easier to do it alone.

In the end something like what you proposed is just a better idea all things considered.

I would be interested, as long as I have enough time and energy for it.
