I forgot when the change was made, since I don't watch TV much, but there hasn't been a poll about it, I'm bored, and you're a conveniently-available audience. Sucks to be you.

I noticed the change about a month or so ago and just had to ask 'why?' Cause really, it's pretty dumb.

I never liked the Sci-Fi channel anyway so the name change doesn't really matter to me

That's like changing MSF to EmEsEf.

And all SyFy's movies suck. Just saying.

Sadly, it's been used before. I can't remember for what, exactly. Thankfully, never officially for the site.

I didn't hear about this until just now, but my reaction was kind of like, "...What? Why?..." It's just sort of baffling. Are they trying to be "hip" or something? I'm just kind of, as I said, baffled.

Well, I figure "imagine greater" is more appropriate for fantasy.

Far as I'm concerned, they hit their low point years ago. My primary deal is, "why did they choose a name that sounds like something out of a child's storybook"?

Good question. At the very least any self-respecting geek or nerd won't except it. Perhaps the channel's main audience are teenagers and young adults, so they're appealing to whatever's trendy in that age group. Like their lingo. *Shrugs*
