If you ask how or why I thought of this poll, I won't be be able to provide an answer. I simply don't know.

*I lower my face into my hands and shake my head*

I just don't know...

Let the icons fall where they will. I'll find 'em somehow. Eventually. Maybe. :?

So where did you come-- *Brick'd*

I tend to keep mine in rows, with no empty spaces, but beyond that they end up wherever they happen to land.

I tend to organize my desktop icons in a fairly orderly fashion, grouped by similar things, and set up in such a manner that they don't cover my current desktop picture (or 'important' parts of the picture).

What "important" parts are those? :P

Oh, right... I forgot to say what I do with my icons. Well...

...

Pretty much everything but leaving them alone. They're orderly, grouped according to what kind of icons they are, and they're arranged to take a particular shape (for this computer, a triangle for each corner on the left side). If I used a picture, like I do for my old computer, I'd also make sure to place the icons where they won't cover up anything worth looking at... But, so far, I've decided against putting one up. If I ever do, though... Yeah.

...I wonder what kind of person does stuff like that. <_<;

On my Windows 98 PC, I keep the icons arranged as a square around the edge of whatever wallpaper I'm using.

Faces, people, action shots, whatever. Most of my wallpapers generally have a whole lot of open space that aren't very interesting to look at, so those are usually where my icons are placed. :o

I kinda frame the side edges of my desktop with work-ish program icons on the left and game icons on the right.

I don't keep much of anything on my desktop, its annoying to move windows around to go looking for them.

the random file I downloaded might end up there. This is for my desktop, my laptop, being a macbook, has some handy features that allow me to easily manipulate my windows, so I don't mind as much about where my icons are
