Nightmares from movies

Yeah, just another curiosity type of poll. I was hearing my mother telling someone about how my sister had nightmares after watching Jurassic park. And I remember someone I know having said that they had nightmares after watching the incredible hulk (not the latest movie). So, y'know...
I haven't had nightmares about movies. I haven't even had a nightmare for twelve years. ^_^; But I remember many of the nightmares that I used to have and I'm sure that I never had one about a movie.

I remember I had a nightmare after watching Alien. But, that was the only one that I actually remember happening.

I had the most distrubing nightmare about one of those old "Outer Limits" type TV shows when I was like 8. It was about a girl who predicted her own death by some exotic means and I was deathly afraid that it'd happen to me. Keep in mind I was small at the time but it was kinda terrifying.

Oh, anything I watch or read is fair game to dreams. Things have a tendency to jar around in my head until nighttime and let loose. Of course, I can remember what I've dreamt most of the time as long as I can think about it for a minute after I've waked. I definitely had dreams patterned after Bond, Godzilla, Roger Rabbit etc. I don't seem to get nightmares, though.

Jurrasic Park was a big nightmare fest for me, ever since I was a kid I have had nightmares of dinasaurs coming to eat me... when I saw that movie (I think I was seven)... It only made them worse...
I still have them occasionally...
But the big nightmare theme for me is tornadoes... I live in Illinois at the farthest northeastern reach of tornado alley... and I have had so many nightmares involving tornadoes...
the movie twister made them 100x worse...

I often have tornadoes in my dreams, but it's never a nightmare. Or, I should say, I never feel scared. Avoid them I definitely do, though. I just had one recently where a bunch of tornadoes surrounded a city that I was in and were all converging on it. I hid in a building and then the dream shifted to knocking over shelves that had candy. <.<;

Alot of dreams I've had involve me fihting someone to the death, and, most of the time, its an antagonist, like The guy In halloween, Freddy Kruger...the Candy Man...And, what's worse, is, I never know what happens as it doesnt end.

I tend to avoid the sort of movies that tend to cause nightmares. That could explain why I've never had one. Well, unless you count when I was really young and first saw a roller coaster that went upside-down, and sometime afterwards dreamed I was riding and when it went over, I fell out of the car.... To this day I don't like those things. Though admittedly I don't like the feeling in my head at flip time, first and foremost.
But so long as it stays upright or only turns sideways, I'm just fine. Love 'em, in fact.

Dunno if it's really movie related, but I've had weird nightmares about lions and big foot when I was little >.> I've also had a really greusome nightmare about a movie called "The Wong Turn" ;_; Arg I wish I could sue the makers of that film for scarring me eternally.

My middle niece was around that age when we took her to see it.
Her reaction was opposite of yours.
She giggled maniacly when the t-rex chomped the butler dude and swung him about before swallowing. We all looked at her and she was grinning evily.

I've had nightmares after watching Star Trek: First Contact, as well as Virus...
Forcibly being turned into a cyborg or eaten by machines is rather unpleasant in concept to me ^^;;

Let's see, the book about Tailepoe haunted me for a few years, and I had nightmares after dying on the last boss in House of the Dead.
I didn't have closure.

okay, just this past night I woke up from a nightmare in which I was attacked by a Trex, fended it off with a knife.. tsukihime style.., and then I got struck by lighning somehow whilst standing in the middle of my old house... and then I woke up. It seems that whenever I am having a dream and it is not quite a lucid dream where I recognize that I am dreaming, but I can make conscious descisions, if I happen to be in a dark/quiet place I get attacked by dinasours a'la jurrasic park, or hit by some sort of severe weather acting almost as if it was a living predatory thing...
after waking up I fell back to sleep and had what I considered "unnerving dreams". Not really nightmares, but not all too happy...
first I was in my current townhouse and some alien presence was attacking me from above. I however was able to consciously determine I had powers to trump them and defended myself with psychic barriers and attacks... then as my dreams tend to shift without logic or anything... I was in something like James Clavell's Shogun in which I was a foreigner in Japan's feudal era (although everyone wore modern clothes...) and I was basically being stalked by jezuits... kinda like the book... then I was back at my home and was looking accross the nearby river at a bunch of weddings taking place at the park there... though the people were all oddly dressed in gothic lolita/victorian style...
...that's all I remember... -_-
