just curious what people tend to lean to mentally around here though i can guess.

The state of the glass is based on the actions preceeding that point. If the glass was originally empty, and then filled half way, it is half full, as it is half the way to the state of being full. The same logic applies if the glass was full, and then half the water was removed.

The glass is half full and half empty.

A is simply A, the words can either be techical or poetic, but the meanings are identital.

Meh, the glass is a figment of your imagination. It only exists in the shattered dreamscapes of your mind, and can therefore be considered neither here nor there, nor anywhere inbetween. In which case, the question is: How did the glass, whether it be half-empty or half-full, get into your mind in the first place?

Unless it's in a vacuum, I'd daresay the glass is always all the way full. ^.~

Seeing as no glass is specified, more information is needed. For all we know, it could be totally full or totally empty.

How about a glass MADE of pocky? :D

If pocky is what I think it is, It wouldnt be able to contain water thus making it empty by default.

I tend to fall on the pessimist side of the fence, judging by a great many things that have happened in my life, I think to be optimistic, is to invite disappointment.
I don't know why people are optimistic about anything, really, but, the truth of the matter is, not everything is happy, and nothing can ever truly change.
