What are the conditions around the computer you use?

Mine's pretty bad. My bedroom is really the dining room, so it's right in the center of the master bedroom, kitchen and the living room/den. So I can hear and see almost all of the house activities. I hear the TVs from the master bedroom and livingroom loud and clear more often than not, unless either are actually turned down enough (and if the master bedroom's door is closed; but even then it depends on the volume). I get to hear all sorts of conversations, which are usually pretty easy to hear. The dish washer is about fourteen feet away, easily within my sight, and it's a noisy nuisance for over an hour at a time. Connected to the kitchen is the wash room, one that has no door, so I can hear the washing machine and dryer loud and clear as well. I have two 40-gallon-sized trash bins within six feet from me, and I get to smell the rubbish as they get filled up for a few days before getting full and needing emptying. My "room" has no doors, and you have to walk through my "room" to get into the master bedroom, so I barely have any privacy. My "room" is also a sort of storage area, it seems, so it's kind of cramp and has thus hindered me from working with my tablet effectively. Last, but not least, I'm practically within the breeding ground for the cockroaches, being that I'm right next to the trash and all. I kill around a dozen of them a day, since they have infested the wall that I'm facing. I'm worried that they're already in my computer, and will likely be the death of it.
I could say that I'm tolerating it, but it's too much of a distraction for me to really be able to harness whatever potential my brain may have for concentrating on things that I'm doing on here. It may just be the reason why I'm finding it so hard to make any progress with certain things.

Well, I set up my room, so I'm not one to complain about how I did it.
My computer sits in one corner on my new desk, next to me is my bed, across from the computer is my little bookshelf...quite fine for me ^^

It could be better, but, only if there was a dumbwaiter so I can get food without leaving the spot ^^

I actually have it fairly good. I'm in my own place now, after all (got my own internet in place last Thursday evening- hooray!), and it's an efficiency. So technically I have most of my stuff in the one main room (except for my bed, which is in a walk-in closet which is so huge that the bed only occupies at most two-thirds of the thing, and heck, it even has a window in it). So if I have company I won't be private. But I live alone, so essentially I'm by myself the vast majority of the time anyway, as I'm the one more likely to go visit other people. The only down side is that the phone line is across the room, so I have a cord trailing across the place to connect it to the internet. And I wouldn't even have that problem if not for the fact that I can't put my computer right next to the jack because that wall is the only one long enough to accomodate my couch without it protruding out and obstructing pathways or whatever. So yeah, my space overall works fairly well. Not perfect, but then, few things are.

Currently, I am surrounded by papers with random drawings on it
hmm... there is a plotter at my right with many books over it...
my speakers are in front of me and there are many bond pages with my drawings over it... the keyboard and the mouse...
hmm... telephone on my left, scanner at my right.
3 monitors to my upper left and one in front of me.
Behind me there is a rack with servers in it.
We can say that my computer room is a mess.

Now that the pygmies have realized the fatal flaw in trying to boil my computer alive and the timberwolves lost the scent, it's not bad. Could be better.

I'm set up in a spare room in the house I share with my roommates. There isn't much here besides the computer, a table, and a chair. Oh and me. I'm usually here when I'm posting.

Hey, you never know... I'm capable of many things. And keeping you guessing is one of them.

some empty beverage bottles, an empty teacup from the day before. a few poorly stacked CDs and gaming paraphenalia, tangle of cords and chaoticly well ordered placement of my sundry tools such as tablet joystick, mic etc.

Work - (desk) telephone and headset, desk-aids and useful info, calender, fan, record sheets, whatever book I'm reading between busy periods, and a bottle of water.
Home - (the room this time) cottle of coke (in the process of being drunk), D&D and gaming notes needing organising, tons of books needing the same, clothes needing folding a fan heater so I don't freeze to death, and a comfy bed
