I have seen many of these topics else where on diffrent websites, I just thought it might be fun to bring it here, to you people. To see what you're opinion on this topic. The most famous Anime character versus Comic character out there I have noticed, people fighting amongst themselves to figure is the ever so popular " Goku vs Superman." as well as other such as Tetsuo Shima from Akira versus Jean Grey and Professor Xavier from X-men. I want to hear the opinions of the people. Who's side do you take, Anime or Comics?

Who win people in these two fights?

Goku vs Superman

Tetsuo Shima vs Jean Grey & Professor Xavier

Goku, no question.

Jean Grey and Xavier, no question.

For Goku, I mean, in the anime, he can become, what, a super saiyajin 4? O.o If Vegeta can blow up a planet when his power is somewhere between 20,000-50,000 (and Piccolo the moon, with less than 20,000), then what can Goku do when he's in the tens of millions? I doubt Superman can do what I'm imagining that Goku could do with that sort of power.

As for Grey and Xavier, together they have every bit as much psychic power as Tetsuo, if not more. Plus, they have mind control capabilities on their side.

Well that may be true, however you have to take into consideration that Superman also has diffrent forms. Not that he can transform into, but the writers of the comics had made him in diffrent power levels. There is the pre-crises Superman that can barely lift a city then you go to Post-Crises or Golden Age Superman who can easily juggle planets around with his hands. Then there is the highest form of Superman called Superman Prime. Which I think is just a total rip off in the comics. I do believe the writers for that Superman were taking some kind of drugs. Here is what
feats Superman Prime has.

Here is SuperBoy Prime, the kid version of Superman Prime

Image

1.) Lived in the middle of the yellow sun for ten thousand years. ( For those who don't know, Superman's powers is given to him by the UV rays of yellow suns. Red suns have the opposite effect on him, taking his powers away. However Superman Prime is imune to red suns.

2.) Accidently destroyed a entire solar system by sneezing.

3.) Survived lethal injections of Kryptonite (Sup'es Weakness) into his vains in survived.

4.) Layed on top of a mountain of Kryptonite and was bomb-barded with nuclear bombs and didn't recieve a scratch.

5.) Is immune to all his previous weaknesses.

Superman's Weaknesses:
1.) Kryptonite: Fractions of his home planet that exploded years ago. Can be found almost anywhere on earth, well the earth superman is on.
There are diffrent types and colors of kryptonite, and they all effect Superman in some way or another.

Green- Weakens and drains Supermans powers.
Red- Messes with his mind and emotions.
Blue: No effect on Superman but on his failed clone Bizzaro.
Silver: Takes Superman's powers away tempararily.
Gold: Takes Superman's powers away forever.

2.) Red suns- Superman's strength and all his powers come from one key factor, the yellow sun. The one lingering above earth, his cells absorb the UV rays and power him. However red suns have the opposite effect, and make him a normal person like you and me...well unless you have some super powers that I don't know of then I stand corrected.

3.) Magic- The reason why Superman is invulnerable to harm is because he uses the power of the sun to put up a invisable bio-field which protects him from physical attacks, thats why he dosn't get hurt that easily. When you see Superman getting the crap kicked out of him by some bad guy, you know that he dosn't have sufficent strength to keep that bio-field up any longer. Magic, isn't physical unless it's like a fireball but even then it has magical properties in it, so it will effect Superman big time.

4.) Merciful- This can be considered a weakness or a strength, but Superman even though how strong he is, he will not take another person's/creature's life. Even if he gets beaten to a bloody pulp he will not do so. The only person known to be killed by Superman was Doomsday a creature created on his home planet that would ressurect it's self when killed and evolve to the point where whatever killed it, would have no effect anymore. Doomsday proved to us that Superman can be killed by being beaten to a bloody pulp.

Here is Doomsday:

Then you have Son Goku, or Kakkarot. Both he and Superman have the same past. Born on a planet far from Earth. Planet Vegeta home of the Saiyan's a planet ruled by King Vegeta and the rest of the war-mongering citizens. Then you have Kyrpton where Superman A.K.A. Kal El or Klark Kent Earth Alias. A prosperous planet, opposite of that of planet Vegeta. The Kryptonians were Scientest and had the cure for all dieases except the X diease. Both planets were destroyed one by Frieza and the other due to a melt down in the core I do believe. Crash land on the planet, humans find them and raise them. Superman's powers appear later on while Gokue trains and builds his up and gains many powers.

Yes I have a good feeling that Goku would have a chance, however I have to tell you this for you're own good. Dragonball to Dragonball Z all the way to Buu saga was of the original creators making. However Dragonball GT was not of his. Other people decided to make them, who worked for the orignal artist making Dragonball GT and the DBZ movies too, be considered Non-Canon. Meaning they have no real hold in the DBZ universe. They were what if Scenarios. Plus in GT SSJ4 Goku wasn't that strong, thats why many people disliked GT among other reasons. We see Goku SSJ-SS3 his kicks and punches shatter mountains, shake the Earth. However you see SSJ 4 Goku try to lift up a collapsing building to save the lives of the innocent people in the city he was fighting in. He was straining by lifting it. Pretty bad story writing if you ask me.

Goku's Transformations.
Oozaru- Ten times the power level/ can't control this form.
Kao-Kin X10- Highest level of Kao-Kin
Giji SSJ- False Super Saiyan.
SSJ 1- Basic Transfomation
USSJ1- Increases muscle mass and strength;lowers speed greatly.
USSJ2- Twice the strenght and muscle mass; slower speed.
USSJ3- Spiker Hair, Crazy muscle size, Slow as hell.
Ascended Saiyan- Sustains SSJ1 Form.
SSJ2- Speed and Strength amazingly increase.
SSJ3- Speed and Strength increase, Energy runs out quickly.
Golden Oozaru- One hundreds time stronger.
SSJ4- Strength lowered, Ki consumptin increased so is Speed.

Goku's weaknesses:

1.) His tail- Grabbing his tail paralyzes him. However he lost his tail long ago. Unless you count DBGT when he gets it back when facing Bebi in his child form. Then he dosn't have that problem. Once agian bad writing!

2.) XY Chromosome-This could be stated as one seeing how it's retaining to MSF. Not having anything to do with the fight. There is speculation that if Goku was TFed he couldn't obtain SSJ form, reason? The original artist Akira Toriyama stated in a meeting that female saiyans didn't have the genetics to transform. Just thought that was a intresting thing.

3.) Gulliable- Goku may be stupid outside of battle, but is a master at fighting. Though he can be to gulliable and fall into traps quite easily. Superman is known to be abnormaly smart, the opposite of Goku. Goku might have abit of trouble.

They both have a arsenal of attacks, and both of them can travel at the speed of light or even faster. It just depends. Oh also we saw Vegeta destory a planet in the Saiyan Sage, with a blast from his finger. He was only at a power level of 18,000. Though it was stated that the energy blast struck the planets core causing a meltdown destroying the planet. This was also a filler if you read the manga which is more true to the story than the anime like any manga is. Yes they can easily destroy planet which is why Vegeta later on in the series stated that the Ki blast were condensed because fear of destroying earth.

Now on to the next fight.

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen! We have Tetsuo Shima from Akira and Jean Grey and Professor Xavier from the X-men. On the right we have a fifteen year old biker kid, wearing a wavering red cape and spiked black hair. On the left we have a lovely red headed woman and a bald parapaligec. Don't let there looks fool you they are known as the most powerful psychics in the Marvel Universe.

This might seem like a one sided fight, but have you witnessed the actual power of Tetsou. I am not talking about the anime, I am talking about the manga of course. Where Tetsou blew peoples heads apart and ripped them limb from limb like they were nothing but rag dools. Destroyed entire cities, gave the American army a tough time and nearly destroyed them. Created a large crater in the moon just by thinking. Think Trigun and the crater that was created from Vashe's Angel Arm, that happend to the moon just by a single thought. Tetsuo's power was still maturing at the time.

Tetsuo's Powers:

1. Teleknisis: Incredible teleknisis can move anything from people, cars, tanks even putting that crater in the moon. Levitation and flight also.

2. Telepathy: We can easily see him reading peoples minds, if you have seen the movie then you know this is true.

3. Mechanical assemblation: Also known as technopath. Can create things such as body parts and weapons from scraps of metal and abandoned wire and circutry.

4. Teleportation: Can teleport anywhere he wishes, seen in the movie and in the manga. How do you think he traveled from earth to the moon?

5. Energy barrier: Can protect himself from energy, objects and uses the barrier to survive in cold tempatures and the vaccum of space. Wheneve he went up to destroy the Laser Targeting Satalite under the alias " Sol" after blowing off his arm.

6. Energy Projection: Throws energies from his mind and body used as a weapon and connects with the energy barrier.

7. Pyrokenisis: Can create and manipulate fire with his mind.

Tetsuo's Weakness:

1.) Constant Headaches- His powers cause him to have great migranes.

2.) Mutation- Mutation occurs whenever he uses to much of his power.

3.) Cocky- Tetsuo is a cocky punk, what do you expect from a kid who was treated as the baby of the bunch and always being picked on gaining immense powers. He thinks he can take on anybody and dosn't care what happens to other people not even his best friend.

Jean and Professor Xaviers Powers:

Telepathy: Can read, control, erase and even destroy a person's mind.

Teleknises: Can lift various object with there minds alone.

Astral form: Can travel in a astral form, going anywhere they want.

Experience: Being older they alot more experience than the biker kid with the cocky attitude which is a forte for them. If they work as a team like I know they will they have a chance to take Tetsuo down, but it won't be a cake walk mind you.

Weakness: I don't know. lol

There is also talk about this one saying that if the Jean has the Phoneix Force than it's all over. For those who don't know what the Phoneix Force is, in the Marvel Comics it's a being of pure energy in the form of a fiery phoneix. It's purpose in existence is to recreate life it's the opposite of death basically. It can draw it's strength on what had what is now and what will later be born into the universe. It is also died in with what is called the " White Crown" which is basically the power of T.O.A.A.= The One Above All A.K.A. God. Now if you're going to use this excuse then yes and no Jean would win. Why? Because The Phoneix Force is not really Jean, and is way off the scales for Tetsuo. Now if it was agianst Akira and the Phoneix Force then one of them might win, for Akira in Tetsou's universe is the Almight God himself.

The Phoniex Force

You should have been more specific to begin with. ;p You had me thinking of regular ol' Superman against Goku, who, even in the manga, is powerful enough. And you didn't differentiate on whether any of them had to be either anime or manga, to begin with.

However, I still think that Goku would pwn them all. Like I said, if a planet can get destroyed by Vegeta at the level that he was at when he first made an appearance, imagine what an energy level in the tens of millions (maybe even in the hundred millions) would do. He could probably sneeze away a galaxy, if it weren't for the author's continuity safeguards. XD

I was wondering, they say that Saiyans get like 10 times stronger after healing from near situation. Meaning Vegetas power level would have been 180,000 when he went back to Namek.

Then would that mean in movie 8 Brolly the Legendary SSJ, that brolly at level 10,000 as a one day year old infant who was stabbed in the stomach by the king and escaped the planet before it explosed. Would that mean a infant child would have 100,000 power level? What I am trying to say is that Brolly if it was in episode form not movies, would have killed all the Z-figthers at first.

He is the Legendary Super Saiyan.

You have USSJ muscles and strength but lose no speed and you continues to get stronger and never fatique as a Legendary Super Saiyan. Completly off topic.

Abraham Lincoln would win. No question in my mind.

He'd emancipate their sorry asses half-way across the union.

cause crack is bad for you.

anyways.

it's all depends on the limits, versions, etc... i mean tech the cosmic beings like eternity and living tribunal = lord of nightmare's and the like... considering they are embodyments of existance it's petty much impossible to say XXX is greater then XXX simple cause different rules apply to every universe.

Sorry Supes, Goku has ya.

The reasoning is that yes GT may be considered "non-cannon" due to the fact Akira Toriyama did only designs for it, but, guess what, it still happened. Just like a filler ep. So you gotta take it into account. if that was the case, Superman would be even more hosed because his original incarnation wasn't as strong as it is now (i.e. he didn't fly. He only lept tall buildings). Goku basically has no peak.

Jean would win against Tetsuo, with no help needed. The Phoenix force for the win.

But, I gotta say the question on this isn't entirely.. well acurate.

See Comics, is a print form, and anime is not. These characters go on both.

I think the question is more "east v west".

Well if XXX and XXX fell into each other universes wouldn't the foreign XXX fuse with the orignal XXX thats dwelling in it's own universe? Say God in DC Yaweh and the T.O.A.A the God in Marvel if they would be the same thing. Speaking of Living Tribunal, who do you think would win? LT or the Spectre?

Let's not bring Vertigo dieties into this, okay?

I voted for Superman, mainly because of Silver Age, and because of his creativity. Goku just has an escelating power level, come the time of DBZ.

And, remember, Goku was originally just a kid with a cool stick. At their peak, Superman can turn time backwards, and Goku can destroy planets, maybe Galaxies, maybe the whole freaking universe. (He could kill King Kai's boss's boss's boss's boss.)

I believe there is not point to such arguments as whenever two prominent heroes meet up, they almost inevitably end up teaming up to take on a bigger villain or a combination of their own villains.

Say Brainiac and Freeza deciding to combine powers or the like.
